With a focus on inclusion and cutting-edge science, Sanofi's digital tool connects patients and researchers.

Sanofi has just launched Sanofi Studies in Brazil, a website that gathers detailed information about open-enrollment clinical trials conducted by the pharmaceutical company in the country. The initiative seeks to expand public access to clinical research by connecting potential participants, physicians, and research centers. Another objective is to encourage more diverse and representative participation in trials, facilitating access for historically underrepresented groups and promoting equity in volunteer selection.

Viviane Rezende, Head of Clinical Studies at Sanofi Brazil, explains: "Sanofi Studies is more than a platform—it's a concrete step toward promoting more accessible and representative science. By increasing investments and decentralizing clinical studies, we are accelerating innovation and ensuring that different profiles of the Brazilian population are reflected in medical advances," says the executive.

Clinical studies are fundamental stages in the advancement of medicine, as they enable the development of new medications and treatments capable of transforming patients' lives.

The launch of the platform comes at a time of strong expansion of clinical research and Sanofi's investments in Brazil. In 2024, the company invested R$100 million in the area—a 122% increase over the previous year—and increased the number of participating institutions in the North and Northeast regions by 42%. The number of studies has also grown: there are currently 54 active studies in the country, almost half of them in immunology, consolidating Brazil's strategic role in the global innovation pipeline.

Diversity in clinical trials is another commitment reinforced by the platform. Sanofi's goal is to reach 25% participation by Black and Brown people by the end of 2025—a figure that has already reached 23%. Decentralizing studies and strengthening partnerships with centers outside the South-Southeast region have been fundamental to this progress.

In addition to immunology, ongoing studies cover areas of ongoing unmet medical need, such as dermatology, neurology, pulmonology, and gastroenterology. Currently, approximately 20 research projects are recruiting volunteers in Brazil for various health conditions, including inflammatory diseases (such as asthma), autoimmune diseases (such as multiple sclerosis, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP), focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), atopic dermatitis, Crohn's disease, and celiac disease), and vaccines.

Before deciding to participate in a clinical trial, it is essential that each patient speaks with their doctor, clarifying all doubts, and understanding the potential benefits and risks involved. This guidance is essential for making an informed, safe, and confident choice.
