This is a two-arm, double-blind, randomized controlled clinical study. The intervention group will consist of 44 participants who will receive guidance through the exposure of a video, previously prepared and validated in this research. The video refers to the transition of care after kidney transplantation to home care. The video will be shown at the time of hospital discharge from the inpatient unit. The intervention will be conducted by the study's lead researcher and will be carried out individually in the kidney transplant unit, lasting an average of 30 minutes. Initially, a questionnaire will be given to assess knowledge about care after kidney transplantation.Subsequently, the educational technology (video) will be shown, lasting 20 minutes. Then, the patient will be asked about any questions regarding the content of the video. In case of doubt, the lead researcher will clarify whatever is necessary. If there are no doubts, the knowledge questionnaire will be reapplied. After one week, the knowledge questionnaire will be administered again during the outpatient consultation the educational technology, in video format, was titled: “Life after kidney transplant” and addresses patient care after kidney transplantation in the transition from hospital to home. The video consists of 10 topics, categorized in Roy’s four adaptive modes. This video was submitted for validation by two focus groups, one with 10 health professionals and the other with 5 kidney transplant patients. The control group will be composed of kidney transplant patients who will not receive the video-type educational technology and will only receive verbal and written information, contained in the checklist, according to the unit’s routine. This information was related to routine care after kidney transplantation. It will be provided by the nurse, who will be on duty, on the day of hospital discharge in the unit where the patient will be admitted. This information refers to routine care after kidney transplantation and will be provided by the main researcher. Before and after the standardized intervention in the unit, the second researcher will give the questionnaire to assess knowledge about care after kidney transplantation to the patient allocated to the Control GroupDuring the outpatient consultation, after one week, the same knowledge questionnaire will be administered again by the second researcher. It should be noted that after data collection, the intervention will also be carried out in the control group. In order to reduce the likelihood of systematic errors and allow the use of statistical tests, it is important that the procedure for randomly allocating participants to the GC and IG groups of a clinical trial is carried out correctly Randomization consists of randomly allocating treatments, and these allocations must be inviolable, so that it is impossible for intentional or unintentional factors to influence the randomization thus, a list containing numbers between one and 88 was randomized by means of an electronic draw, dividing the numbers between the Intervention Group (IG) and the Control Group (CG) randomly, using online software (Random.org)This process was carried out by the main researcher The patients were numbered sequentially in ascending order, from one to 88, and at the time of discharge, by their sequential collection number, they will be allocated according to the randomization list between IG and GC, with no need to use sealed envelopes. The IG will consist of 44 participants following the following sequence; (76, 15, 64, 47, 54, 37.1 3, 83, 16, 28.1 9, 42, 35, 22, 84, 88, 41, 14.2 9, 46, 1, 82, 38, 58, 44, 49, 7 1, 30, 75, 66, 74, 81, 7, 56, 34, 51, 18, 27, 86, 70, 67, 68, 60 and 24) and the GC will also be composed of 44 participants following the following sequence.(4, 55, 20, 52, 11, 31, 5, 87, 9, 8, 36, 63, 10, 53, 85, 61, 73, 57, 77, 50, 48, 23, 26, 21, 40, 79, 45, 33, 3, 32, 2, 17, 80, 78, 59, 25, 6, 39, 43, 72, 69, 65, 12, 62) by 44. Regarding blinding, the second researcher, responsible for applying the knowledge assessment questionnaire before and after applying the video to the IG and the checklist to the CG, does not know which groups the participants belong to. After one week, this questionnaire will be reapplied by the second researcher to the participants of both groups. In addition, data analysts will be blind to the groups to which participants were randomized. Participants will be discontinued from the study based on criteria such as: giving up on participating in the research after data collection has begun, not attending outpatient appointments, even after having rescheduled more than three times, and not responding to data collection instruments completely
