  This is a two-arm, single-blind, randomized controlled clinical trial. Experimental group: 40 nursing students will be submitted to a pre-test (assessment of knowledge about prevention of surgical site infection), lasting 30 minutes; then they will read the guidelines on prevention of surgical site infection; will use the educational game (serious game), lasting 50 minutes; will carry out a post-test (assessment of knowledge about preventing surgical site infection) and will answer the satisfaction questionnaire with the use of the serious game, lasting 30 minutes. The game's narrative addresses a nurse who provides care and guidance to a patient who will undergo orthopedic surgery - total hip arthroplasty. The player travels through environments related to the pre, intra and postoperative stages, and is faced with a 84 variability of common situations in the daily life of nurses, putting their knowledge about prevention of surgical site infection into practice. In each environment (ward, degermation room, operating room and post-anesthetic recovery room) the player answers the challenges and, at the end of the game, the character wins if he obtains a 100% score, with the possibility of repeating the game as many times as you like. Control group: 40 nursing students will be submitted to a pre-test (assessment of knowledge about prevention of surgical site infection), lasting 30 minutes; then they will read the guidelines on prevention of surgical site infection, lasting 50 minutes, and perform a post-test (assessment of knowledge about prevention of surgical site infection), lasting 30 minutes. Students will be randomly allocated to one of the groups, experimental or control, using the randomization scheme generated with the help of the free program available on the website http://www.randomization.com and the researchers who will apply the data collection instrument will be masked regarding the allocation group of each student.

  Trata-se de um estudo clínico randomizado controlado de dois braços, simples-cego. Grupo experimental: 40 estudantes do curso de enfermagem serão submetidos a um pré-teste (avaliação do conhecimento sobre prevenção de infecção de sítio cirúrgico), com duração de 30 minutos; em seguida realizarão a leitura das diretrizes sobre prevenção de infecção de sítio cirúrgico; utilizarão o jogo educativo (serious game), com duração de 50 minutos; realizarão um pós-teste (avaliação do conhecimento sobre prevenção de infecção de sítio cirúrgico) e responderão ao questionário de satisfação com o uso do serious game, duração de 30 minutos. A narrativa do jogo aborda um enfermeiro que presta cuidados e orientações a um paciente que será submetido a cirurgia ortopédica - artroplastia total de quadril. O jogador percorre ambientes relacionados as etapas de pré, intra e pós-operatórios, e defronta com uma 84 variabilidade de situações comuns do cotidiano do enfermeiro, colocando seus conhecimentos sobre prevenção de infecção de sítio cirúrgico em prática. A cada ambiente (enfermaria, sala de degermação, sala de operações e sala de recuperação pós-anestésica) o jogador responde os desafios e, ao final do jogo, o personagem vence se obtiver um aproveitamento de 100%, com a possibilidade de repetir o jogo, quantas vezes desejar. Grupo controle: 40 estudantes do curso de enfermagem serão submetidos a um pré-teste (avaliação do conhecimento sobre prevenção de infecção de sítio cirúrgico), com duração de 30 minutos; em seguida realizarão a leitura das diretrizes sobre prevenção de infecção de sítio cirúrgico, com duração de 50 minutos e realizarão um pós-teste (avaliação do conhecimento sobre prevenção de infecção de sítio cirúrgico), com duração de 30 minutos. Os estudantes serão alocados aleatoriamente para um dos grupos, experimental ou controle, utilizando o esquema de randomização gerado com auxílio do programa gratuito disponibilizado pelo website http://www.randomization.com e os pesquisadores que aplicarão o instrumento de coleta de dados serão mascarados quanto ao grupo de alocação de cada aluno.
