    50 newborns will participate in the study in a single group and will receive manual rib stabilization by the physical therapist. The maneuver will be applied only once, on the sixth day of life of the premature baby. The diaphragmatic excursion will be evaluated by ultrasound before and after the maneuver. In the mecm, which favors muscle contraction of the diaphragm, increased diaphragmatic excursion and peripheral oxygen saturation, the physical therapist's hand is positioned in the lower third of the chest and upper third of the abdomen, in the diaphragm apposition zone, where the index fingers and the physiotherapist's thumb bridge the last ribs of the newborn. The maneuver begins with an expiration, and the physical therapist holds the ribs, with light pressure towards the umbilical scar, for 5 to 8 respiratory cycles, repeating for 5 to 8 minutes.     50 recém-nascidos participarão do estudo em um grupo único receberão manobra de estabilização costal manual pelo fisioterapeuta. A manobra será aplicada em uma unica vez, no sexto dia de vida do prematuro. A excursão diafragmatica será avaliado por ultrassonografia antes e depois da manobra. Na mecm, que favorece a contração muscular do diafragma, o aumento da excursão diafragmática e a saturação periférica de oxigênio, a mão do fisioterapeuta é posicionada no terço inferior do tórax e superior do abdome, na zona de aposição do diafragma, onde os dedos indicador e polegar do fisioterapeuta alcançam em ponte as últimas costelas do rn. A manobra se inicia acompanhando uma expiração, e o fisioterapeuta mantém as costelas, com uma leve pressão na direção da cicatriz umbilical, durante 5 a 8 ciclos respiratórios, repetindo por cinco a oito minutos.     Newborns with malformations of the central nervous system, chest and heart disease; Newborns with contraindications to respiratory physiotherapy such as: presence of pulmonary hemorrhage, diaphragmatic hernia, severe pulmonary hypertension, undrained pneumothorax, thrombocytopenia, omphalocele or gastroschisis not yet corrected; Newborns with contraindications to the use of the study technique such as: chest drain, immediate postoperative abdominal or thoracic surgery, Silvermann Andersen Bulletin greater than three.
