  This is a randomized, controlled, three-arm, double-blind clinical study with a blinded evaluator. In the Inelastic Taping Group (ITG), participants will receive applications of inelastic tape (Micropore®) over the orbicularis oris muscle region once a week, totaling 12 sessions. In the Elastic Taping Group (ETG), participants will receive applications of elastic tape (Kinesio Tmáx®) over the orbicularis oris muscle region, with tension ranging from 15% to 35%, once a week, totaling 12 sessions. In the Hyperelastic Taping Group (HTG), participants will receive applications of hyperelastic tape (Dynamic Tape®) over the orbicularis oris muscle region once a week, totaling 12 sessions. Participants will be randomly allocated to the groups by means of a draw. Assessments of habitual lip posture will be performed using video recordings prior to tape application at baseline and every four intervention sessions. The assessor responsible for video analysis will be blinded to group allocation.

  Trata-se de um estudo clínico randomizado controlado de três braços, duplo-cego, com avaliador cego. Grupo da Bandagem Inelástica (GBI): os participantes receberão aplicação de bandagem inelástica (Micropore®) sobre a região do músculo orbicular da boca, uma vez por semana, totalizando 12 sessões. Grupo da Bandagem Elástica (GBE): os participantes receberão aplicação de bandagem elástica (Kinesio Tmáx®) sobre a região do músculo orbicular da boca, com tensão entre 15% e 35%, uma vez por semana, totalizando 12 sessões. Grupo da Bandagem Hiperelástica (GBH): os participantes receberão aplicação de bandagem hiperelástica (Dynamic Tape®) sobre a região do músculo orbicular da boca, uma vez por semana, totalizando 12 sessões. A alocação dos participantes nos grupos será realizada de forma aleatória, por meio de sorteio. As avaliações da postura habitual dos lábios serão realizadas por meio de registros em vídeo antes da aplicação da bandagem, na avaliação inicial e a cada quatro sessões de intervenção. O avaliador responsável pela análise dos vídeos não terá conhecimento da alocação dos participantes nos grupos.

  Present Trisomy 21; be at least 2 years and at most 6 years old; not have complete lip sealing in the habitual position; not be undergoing speech therapy for orofacial motor function.

• Exclusion criteria:

  Presence of other associated syndromes; craniofacial malformations; allergic reactions to the use of the bandage; skin lesions in the area where the bandage is applied.
