In characterizing the profile of school adolescents participating in the group
shipping control there is a higher self-declared frequency of males
50.7% (n=38), aged 12 to 14 years old 74.7% (n=56), mixed race, 54.7%
(n=41) and enrolled in the 6th-7th year of Elementary School II, 50.7% (n=38). No
intervention group agreements on gender and frequency equivalence
adolescents enrolled in the 6th-7th year of Elementary School II with the group
control. Regarding age group, 76% (n = 57) declared themselves to be 12 to 14
and, 50.3% (n=40) were of mixed race.
When comparing the response pattern by gender, age, grade and race,
the predominance of homogeneity in the distribution of the pattern of
response in relation to these factors. Variation in response patterns by gender
was statistically significant only in Q1 (What do you understand about bullying?),
since women showed a tendency to be correct about 2.6 times
greater compared to men. With regard to age, considering the
group of younger (10-12 years old) versus older (13-14 years old), it was identified
a tendency to get more correct answers for questions Q7 (What should you do if
of bullying) and Q13 (What is the year of the anti-bullying law?) among the youngest compared
to the older ones. As for the school grade, there was a statistically significant trend in the pattern of answers to questions Q1 (What do you understand about bullying?) and Q7 (True items about what should be done in case of bullying), where teenagers in the 9th year presented higher averages of correct answers in relation to adolescents in the 6th year, as well as a higher average of correct answers regarding question Q11 (True items about preventing cyberbullying), in relation to the other school grades. Regarding race, there was no statistically significant difference regarding the response pattern

(n=41) e matriculadas no 6º-7º ano do Ensino Fundamental II, 50,7% (n=38). No
controle.

When comparing the pattern of correct answers between the group of adolescents who used the gamified educational technology versus the group that used the quiz, the group that used the game presented a greater number of correct answers for questions Q4 (Correct items about the types of bullying), Q9 (Correct items about the concept of bullying and cyberbullying), Q10 (What should be done in case of cyberbullying?), Q11 (True items about preventing cyberbullying) and Q13 (What is the year of the law
anti-bullying?). Meanwhile, the group that used the quiz had a greater number of correct answers for questions Q3 (True items about the subjects involved in bullying), Q8 (What do you understand about cyberbullying?), Q12 (People you would choose to help you if you were being bullied or cyberbullyed) and Q14 (Correct item about the practice of a culture of peace). When analyzing the response pattern to question Q1 (What do you understand about bullying?), there was no difference in the pattern of correct answers between the intervention and control groups, when the analysis was adjusted for gender [male p= 0.366 and female p= 0.485]. The pattern of responses between the intervention and control groups showed that, only for question Q13 (What was the year of the anti-bullying law?), there was a statistically significant difference, where younger adolescents tend to present a greater number of correct answers compared to adolescents
older. Regarding the response pattern for question Q11, when stratifying by school year, the adjusted values (p=0.01) for the 7th year demonstrated a statistically significant difference, with a greater number of correct answers for the intervention group

Results summary:

Introduction: Bullying and cyberbullying represent global problems, common in public and private schools, a situation that signals the need to strengthen the implementation of effective and creative actions aimed at preventing them. Serious games stand out as educational tools to be used in building knowledge related to approaching these topics in the lives of children and adolescents due to their complexity. Objective: To verify the effect of educational technology on measuring intentions to prevent bullying and cyberbullying among school adolescents. Methods: Randomized experimental study carried out in two schools in the municipal education network of Cupira-PE, from February to April 2023. 75 adolescents were selected for each control and intervention group in a simple random manner, using a table of random school attendance numbers that met the following inclusion criteria: Adolescents aged 10 to 14 years; Be regularly enrolled in the 6th to 9th year (Elementary Education II) in the selected schools and have basic conceptual knowledge about bullying and cyberbullying. Adolescents with cognitive problems and who were unable to fill out the forms, or with hearing or visual impairments and special needs that made it difficult to use the educational tool were excluded. Among the 75 adolescents in the sample from the 6th to the 9th year, approximately 17 students were selected per year from each school in the control and intervention groups. Among these teenagers, 8 students were chosen per sex from each year of Elementary School II per group. There was no loss of participants in the experimental study and in the control group, each group remained with 75 adolescents. For the intervention group, the presentation of modules on measures to prevent bullying and cyberbullying were made through educational videos and gamified activities carried out in five rounds of 15 adolescents at a time due to the availability of this number of computers in the computer laboratory and for the control group, the use of the dialogued expository methodology was used. Results: When comparing the pattern of correct answers between the group of adolescents who used the gamified educational technology versus the group that used the quiz, the group that used the game presented a greater number of correct answers to questions Q4 (Correct items about the types of bullying), Q9 (Correct items about the concept of bullying and cyberbullying), Q10 (What should be done in case of cyberbullying?), Q11 (True items about preventing cyberbullying) and Q13 (What year was the anti-bullying law?).
Discussion: A slight increase in the Cohen effect in the global response pattern of the intervention group (4.16) in relation to the control group (4.14) was obtained in the post-test. Carrying out the dialogued expository educational strategy enabled access to knowledge about bullying and cyberbullying to the control group, allowing us to evaluate that the use of gamified activity is capable of contributing not only to a higher level of knowledge, but to a greater intentionality of changing behavior in relation to these phenomena that are so harmful to the integral development of students. Conclusion: The use of a pedagogical intervention model, based on Freirean theory with the aim of promoting the prevention of bullying and cyberbullying, focused on critical social teaching using contextualized videos associated with gamified activities, contributed to youth protagonism, in the construction of critical and reflective knowledge capable of promoting intentional changes in attitude
