  This randomized controlled trial with a parallel model will involve the participation of 30 patients who will be allocated into two groups (n=15) according to the treatment of the wound resulting from the excision of a subepithelial connective graft (Sample according to the Ethical comitte aprovement of our institution): PTBM Group (n=15): Square “x” suture and laser application 9 points of the wound in the donor region; CTR group (n=15): Square “x” suture and manipulation of the laser device in the oral cavity for the same period of time as the test group in order to perform the blinding

  Este estudo clínico, controlado e randomizado em modelo paralelo, envolverá a participação de 30 pacientes que serão alocados em dois grupos (n=15) de acordo com o tratamento da ferida consequente da excisão de enxerto conjuntivo subepitelial (Amostra segundo parecer do CEP):Grupo PTBM (n=15): Sutura em “x” quadrado e aplicação de laser 9 pontos da ferida da região doadora; Grupo CTR (n=15): Sutura em “x” quadrado e manipulação do aparelho de laser na cavidade bucal pelo mesmo período de tempo que o grupo teste afim de realizar o cegamento

  Necessity for periodontal surgery for root coverage with the need for a connective tissue graft; lack of previous experience with wound treatment in soft tissue graft donor regions; ability to maintain good oral hygiene; being systemically healthy or have systemic diseases compensated; being between 18 and 60 years old; both genders

  History of untreated periodontal disease; smoking patients, lack of availability of a subepithelial or free gingival connective tissue graft donor bed; hypersensitivity to any anesthetic; medication or antiseptic product used in surgery; medical limitation for elective surgical procedures; patients undergoing orthodontic treatment and pregnant or lactating women

  It can be expected that the use of photobiomodulation will reduce by at least 2 points on the visual analogical scale the pain sensation in relation to the group where the wounds will not be treated by photobiomodulation

  It can be expected that the use of photobiomodulation reduces the size of lesions in donor areas of the hard palate by at least 20% until the 14th postoperative day in relation to the group where the wounds will not be treated by photobiomodulation
