  It is a prospective longitudinal study with comparison between two groups. A total of 75 individuals will participate including 60 children with communication disorders such as stuttering phonological disorders and oral and written language disorders and 15 adults with stuttering treated at the Speech Language Pathology teaching clinic. Participants will be allocated by random draw into two groups respecting each condition in order to maintain an equivalent number between groups. The experimental group will receive speech language therapy associated with integrative and complementary practices including reiki meditation or auriculotherapy according to participant preference with applications performed before the beginning of therapy and continued throughout the therapeutic process until discharge. The control group will receive conventional speech language therapy as recommended in the literature for each condition. Sessions will be individual with an approximate duration of 50 to 60 minutes performed weekly and follow up will occur until speech language discharge or completion of defined therapeutic blocks. The comparison between groups will consider clinical evolution time to discharge and self reported quality of life assessed at pre and post intervention moments using standardized instruments

  Trata se de um estudo longitudinal prospectivo com comparação entre dois grupos. Participarão 75 indivíduos sendo 60 crianças com distúrbios da comunicação incluindo gagueira transtorno fonológico alterações de linguagem oral e escrita e 15 adultos com gagueira atendidos na clínica escola de Fonoaudiologia. Os participantes serão alocados por sorteio em dois grupos respeitando a patologia de cada caso de forma a manter número equivalente entre os grupos. Grupo experimental receberá terapia fonoaudiológica associada a práticas integrativas e complementares podendo incluir reiki meditação ou auriculoterapia conforme escolha do participante com aplicações realizadas antes do início da fonoterapia e continuidade ao longo do processo terapêutico até a alta. Grupo controle receberá terapia fonoaudiológica convencional conforme preconizado na literatura para cada patologia. As sessões serão individuais com duração aproximada de 50 a 60 minutos realizadas semanalmente e o acompanhamento ocorrerá até a alta fonoaudiológica ou final de blocos terapêuticos definidos. A comparação entre os grupos será realizada considerando evolução clínica tempo até alta e qualidade de vida autorreferida avaliada em momentos pré e pós intervenção utilizando instrumentos padronizados

  Children with developmental stuttering aged from 3 years to 11 years and 11 months adolescents aged from 12 years to 17 years and 11 months and adults aged 18 years and older of both sexes presenting stuttering with or without a familial component. Phonological disorder children aged from 4 to 8 years of both sexes. Oral language disorder children aged from 2 to 6 years presenting delay in oral language development. Written language disorder children in the early stages of literacy corresponding to first to fifth grade with ages ranging from 5 to 12 years

  Cases with evident neurological alterations; hearing loss; associated syndromes and severe mental disorders, such as psychosis and autism, will be excluded.
