    After inclusion in the study the subjects of the research will be submitted to a physiotherapeutic evaluation, for data collection.
After data collection, patients will be positioned at 0º (position 0 = P0), 30º (position 1 = P1), 45º (position 2 = P2) and 60º (position 3 = P3) of bed head angulation.
The patients included should be sedated (continuous infusion in midazolam and fentanyl pump), in assisted-mode and adapted to the mechanical ventilator, according to the protocol of the service.
For accuracy of the headboard angulation adopted for each of the positions, a goniometer (Carci®) will be used, which is defined as an instrument with which angles are. 


All patients should initially be placed in the dorsal decubitus position with the head at 0º, waiting five minutes for patient accommodation in this position and then measuring the values ??of VC, respiratory mechanics (static compliance, dynamic complacency and resistance), PIP, Pplat , PMVA, pulmonary distension pressure. The same sequence will be performed for the 30º, 45º and 60º positions.
The static compliance will be calculated by dividing the CV by Pplat subtracted from PEEP. For dynamic compliance, the CV will be divided by PIP subtracted from the PEEP value. Resistive airway pressure will be calculated by the difference between PIP and Pplat and the flow rate. The expiratory VC, PIP, Pplat and PMVA will freeze the graphic fan monitor. The sample will consist of 50 patients.

    Após a coleta dos dados, os pacientes serão posicionados em 0º (posição 0= P0), 30º (posição 1= P1), 45º (posição 2= P2) e 60º (posição 3= P3) de angulação da cabeceira do leito.
Os pacientes incluídos devem estar sedados (infusão contínua em bomba de midazolam e fentanil), em modo assisto-controlado e adaptados ao ventilador mecânico, conforme protocolo do serviço.
Para maior exatidão da angulação da cabeceira adotada para cada uma das posições será utilizado um goniômetro (Carci®), que é definido como um instrumento com que se medem ângulos.
Todos os pacientes devem inicialmente ser posicionados em decúbito dorsal com a cabeceira a 0º, aguardando-se cinco minutos para acomodação do paciente nesse posicionamento e então mensurado os valores de VC, mecânica respiratória (complacência estática, complacência dinâmica e resistência), PIP, Pplat, PMVA, pressão de distensão pulmonar. A mesma sequência será realizada para os posicionamentos de 30º, 45º e 60º.
O cálculo da complacência estática será realizado dividindo o VC pela Pplat subtraída pela PEEP. Para complacência dinâmica, será dividido o VC pela PIP subtraída do valor da PEEP. A pressão resistiva das vias aéreas será calculada pela diferença entre a PIP e Pplat e a taxa de fluxo. No registro do VC expiratório, PIP, Pplat e PMVA será efetuado o congelamento do monitor gráfico do ventilador.     Will be included in the study patients of both sexes; chronological age from 28 days to 14 years incomplete; hospitalized in the PICU for more than 24 hours; using mechanical ventilation; sedated and adapted to the mechanical ventilator; with hemodynamic stability and consent of the patients parents and / or guardians by signing a free and informed consent form.
