  The oral hygiene procedure in all patientes is going to be done with gaze soaked in the solution determined by randomization. Oral hygiene will be done in upper and lower hemiarcade, teeth and palate, buccal mucosa, mouth floor, tongue and lips (due to the dryness caused by the salivary reduction). Phase 1: In this phase it is going to be collected samples before and after treatment. Positive control group: 10 patients will receive mechanical cleaning with chlorexidine 0.12% aqueous solution once. Negative control group: 10 patients will receive mechanical cleaning with filtered water and 5 minutes after application will receive mouth illumination with the LED device (Light Emitting Diode: Linealux Bucal - Cosmedical) according to manufacturer instructions. Photodynamic therapy group: 10 patients will receive mechanical cleaning with methylene blue 0.05% solution in aqueous filtered water and 5 minutes after application will receive mouth illumination with the LED device (Light Emitting Diode: Linealux Bucal - Cosmedical). Formula group: 10 patients will receive mechanical cleaning with mouth rinse formula without methylene blue and 5 minutes after application will receive mouth illumination with the LED device (Light Emitting Diode: Linealux Bucal - Cosmedical). Formula PDT group: mechanical cleaning with mouth rinse formula with methylene blue 0.05% and 5 minutes after application will receive mouth illumination with the LED device (Light Emitting Diode: Linealux Bucal - Cosmedical). Phase 2: In this phase it is going to be followed the medical cards os the patients involved in this study, during the treatment period. Control Group: 50 patients will receive, daily, mechanical cleaning with filtered water, during 5-8 days, once a day. Treatment Group: 50 patients will receive, daily, with most efficient procedure in phase 1, during 5-8 days, once a day.

  A limpeza da boca de todos os pacientes será realizada com gaze embebida em solução determinada pela randomização dos grupos. Será feita a higienização de todos os dentes das arcadas superior e inferior, mucosas, soalho bucal, língua e lábios (por conta do ressecamento, provocado pela redução salivar). Fase 1: Nesta fase serão coletadas amostras pré e pós tratamento. Grupo controle positivo: 10 pacientes receberão por uma única vez limpeza bucal com solução aquosa de clorexidina 0,12%. Grupo controle negativo: 10 pacientes receberão por uma única vez limpeza bucal com água filtrada e após 5 minutos realiza-se iluminação com o um dispositivo LED (Light Emitting Diode: Linealux Bucal - Cosmedical) conforme instruções do fabricante. Grupo Terapia Fotodinâmica: 10 pacientes receberão por uma única vez limpeza bucal com solução aquosa de azul de metileno 0,05% e após 5 minutos realiza-se iluminação com o dispositivo LED (Light Emitting Diode: Linealux Bucal - Cosmedical) conforme instruções do fabricante. Grupo fórmula: 10 pacientes receberão por uma única vez limpeza bucal com uma fórmula de enxaguante bucal sem o princípio ativo e após 5 minutos realiza-se iluminação com o dispositivo LED (Light Emitting Diode: Linealux Bucal - Cosmedical) conforme instruções do fabricante. Grupo PDT fórmula: 10 pacientes receberão por uma única vez limpeza bucal com uma fórmula de enxaguante bucal à base de azul de metileno 0,05% e após 5 minutos realiza-se iluminação com o dispositivo LED (Light Emitting Diode: Linealux Bucal - Cosmedical) conforme instruções do fabricante. Fase 2: Nesta fase será realizado o acompanhamento dos prontuários médicos dos pacientes envolvidos na pesquisa durante o período de tratamento. Grupo Controle: 50 pacientes receberão diariamente limpeza bucal com água filtrada, por um período de 5-8 dias, uma vez ao dia. Grupo Tratamento: 50 pacientes receberão diariamente limpeza bucal com o procedimento mais eficiente da fase 1 deste estudo, por um período de 5-8 dias, uma vez ao dia.

  Intensive care unit patient with 0 to 24h oro-tracheal intubation; patients whose family agree with the participation on this study and sign the agreement term; both genders, above 18 years old
