  Individuals with Type 1 Neurofibromatosis included in the study are followed up at the Child Neurology Outpatient Clinic of the Support Group for Adolescents and Children with Cancer, by Dr. Marcelo de Melo Aragão, physician in the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the Federal University of São Paulo Paulo and Head of the Neurology Emergency Service, Hospital São Paulo, under the responsibility of Prof. Dr. Ricardo Silva Pinho, Child Neurologist at the Pediatric Oncology Institute GRAACC / UNIFESP. Individuals who met the eligibility criteria were invited to participate in the study and referred from the Child Neurology outpatient clinic, by Dr. Marcelo Aragão to Fga. Me. Raquel Fontanelli, doctoral student, who carried out the procedures of audiological evaluations, auditory training and reassessments at the PAC and hearing electrophysiology outpatient clinics located at the Integrated Center for Assistance, Research and Teaching in Hearing (NIAPEA) of the Department of Speech Therapy, Federal University from São Paulo / Paulista School of Medicine (UNIFESP / EPM). Behavioral and electrophysiological evaluations were carried out with great discretion by the researcher Fga. Me. Raquel Fontanelli, not being possible the use of other professionals, so that there would be blinding of the evaluations, due to the limitation of the team of researchers available for the scope of the evaluation procedures in restricted hours of the NIAPEA ambulatory and for the organization of the attendance dynamics of the study subjects, patients and companions who should attend a high number of returns, whether they are in the comparison group or in the intervention group. The distribution of individuals in the groups was carried out randomly, by means of a lottery, carried out after joining the study. For the draw, the patient could remove the numbering one or two that determined the group they were in, so the number one represented the intervention group and the number two the comparison group, after the drawing this number was excluded from the number package, being assigned to this patient only. The sample of this study consisted of 21 individuals with NF1, regardless of sex, aged between 9 and 35 years. These individuals were distributed in three groups, the distribution of individuals was carried out at random, by means of a lottery, carried out after joining the study, for the following groups: Group 1: 6 individuals with Neurofibromatosis type 1 submitted to acoustically controlled auditory training in an acoustic booth; Group 2: 7 individuals with neurofibromatosis type 1 submitted to the auditory musical training program; Group 3: 8 individuals with Neurofibromatosis type 1 who did not undergo any auditory training format; The distribution of individuals in the groups will be random, by means of a draw, carried out after joining the study. Bearing in mind the ethical principles that govern research involving human beings, individuals in Group 3, after the final reassessment, were invited to participate in the Auditory Training Program.

  Os indivíduos portadores de Neurofibromatose do Tipo 1 incluídos na pesquisa são acompanhados no ambulatório de Neurologia infantil do Grupo de Apoio ao Adolescente e à Criança com Câncer, pelo Dr. Marcelo de Melo Aragão, médico do Departamento de Neurologia e Neurocirurgia da Universidade Federal de São Paulo e Chefe de plantão do Pronto Socorro de Neurologia, Hospital São Paulo, sob responsabilidade do Prof. Dr. Ricardo Silva Pinho, Neurologista Infantil do Instituto de Oncologia Pediátrica GRAACC/UNIFESP. Os indivíduos que atenderam aos critérios de elegibilidade foram convidados a participar do estudo e encaminhados do ambulatório de Neurologia infantil, pelo Dr. Marcelo Aragão à Fga. Me. Raquel Fontanelli, doutoranda, que realizou os procedimentos de avaliações audiológicas, treinamento auditivo e reavaliações nos ambulatórios de PAC e eletrofisiologia da audição localizado no Núcleo Integrado de Assistência, Pesquisa e Ensino em Audição (NIAPEA) do Departamento de Fonoaudiologia, da Universidade Federal de São Paulo/Escola Paulista de Medicina (UNIFESP/EPM). As avaliações comportamentais e eletrofisiológicas foram realizadas com exímio critério pela pesquisadora Fga. Me. Raquel Fontanelli, não sendo possível a utilização de outros profissionais, para que houvesse o cegamento das avaliações, devido a limitação da equipe de pesquisadores disponíveis para abrangência dos procedimentos de avaliações em horários restritos do ambulatório NIAPEA e para a organização da dinâmica do comparecimentos dos sujeitos do estudo, os paciente e acompanhantes que deveriam comparecer em número elevado de retornos, sejam eles estando no grupo comparação ou no grupo intervenção. A distribuição dos indivíduos nos grupos foi realizada de forma aleatória, por meio de sorteio, realizado após a adesão à participação no estudo. Para o sorteio, o paciente poderia retirar a numeração um ou dois que determinaram o grupo em que estavam, assim o número um representou o grupo intervenção e o número dois o grupo comparação, após o sorteio este número foi excluído do pacote de números, sendo atribuído apenas para este paciente. A amostra deste estudo foi constituída por 21 indivíduos com NF1, sem distinção quanto ao sexo, com idades entre 9 e 35 anos. Estes indivíduos foram distribuídos em três grupos, a distribuição dos indivíduos foi realizada de forma aleatória, por meio de sorteio, realizado após a adesão à participação no estudo, para os seguintes grupos: Grupo 1: 6 indivíduos com Neurofibromatose do tipo 1 submetidos ao treinamento auditivo acusticamente controlado em cabina acústica; Grupo 2: 7 indivíduos com Neurofibromatose do tipo 1 submetidos ao programa de treinamento auditivo musical; Grupo 3: 8 indivíduos com Neurofibromatose do tipo 1 que não foram submetidos a nenhum formato de treinamento auditivo; A distribuição dos indivíduos nos grupos será de forma aleatória, por meio de sorteio, realizado após a adesão à participação do estudo. Tendo em mente os princípios éticos que regem as pesquisas envolvendo seres humanos, os indivíduos do Grupo 3, após a reavaliação final, foram convidados a participar ao Programa de Treinamento Auditivo.

  Individuals aged 9 to 35 years old, presenting a medical diagnosis of type 1 neurofibromatosis; present auditory thresholds less than or equal to 15 dBHL between 250 and 4000Hz, bilaterally, characterizing audibility thresholds within the normal range; to present type A tympanometric curves, bilaterally, featuring adequate functioning of the middle ear; present Central Auditory Processing Disorder.

  Neurofibromatosis type 1 patients with comorbidities such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, autism and intellectual disability; perform radiotherapy or chemotherapy that compromises peripheral hearing; the presence of epileptic seizures and epilepsy not controlled by a medical team; present alteration of the middle ear; have previously undergone any format of rehabilitation of central auditory processing.
