Interventions

• Interventions:

  en

  Experimental, longitudinal study with therapeutic intervention in pre-selected individuals. A single group of eight (8) patients with spinal cord injury by different diagnoses will be submitted to ten (10) sessions of galvanic vestibular stimulation associated with physical exercises of neurofunctional physiotherapy and vestibular rehabilitation. The study will be carried out in the neurology section of the Polyclinic of the Methodist University of São Paulo. Initially they will be clinically evaluated and through the Functional Independence Measure (FIM) and American Spinal Injury Assessment (ASIA) scales for characterization of clinical and functional conditions. A computerized photographic postural evaluation will be performed, and then the evaluation on a force platform through Clinical Posturography. After the evaluations, the patients will undergo the therapeutic test for establishing the dosimetry of Galvanic Vestibular Stimulation for the treatment sequence. There will be 10 treatment sessions with Galvanic Vestibular Stimulation, and Vestibular Rehabilitation and Customized Neurofunctional Physiotherapy exercises. The reassessment will be made at the end with the same evaluations as at the beginning. The data will be analyzed comparing the initial and final moments for each patient.

  Estudo do tipo experimental, longitudinal, com intervenção terapêutica em indivíduos pré-selecionados. Um grupo único de oito (8) pacientes com traumatismo raquimedular por diferentes diagnósticos será submetido a dez (10) sessões de estimulação vestibular galvânica associada a exercícios físicos de fisioterapia neurofuncional e reabilitação vestibular. O estudo será feito na seção de neurologia da Policlínica da Universidade Metodista de São Paulo. Inicialmente serão avaliados clinicamente e através das Escalas de Medida de Independência Funcional (MIF) e American Spinal Injury Assessment (ASIA) para caracterização dos quadros clínicos e funcional. Proceder-se-á a avaliação postural fotográfica computadorizada, e então a avaliação em plataforma de força através da Posturografia Clínica. Após as avaliações os pacientes passarão pela prova terapêutica para estabelecimento da dosimetria da Estimulação Vestibular Galvânica para a sequência do tratamento. Serão realizadas 10 sessões de tratamento com a Estimulação Vestibular Galvânica, e exercícios de Reabilitação Vestibular e Fisioterapia Neurofuncional Customizados. A reavaliação será feita no final com as mesmas avaliações do momento inicial. Buscar-se-á analisar os dados comparando os momentos inicial e final para cada paciente.

  Having a sensory motor sequelae such as tetraparesis/tetraplegia or paraparesis/paraplegia secondary to spinal cord injury; being older than 18 years old; both genders; being under medical follow-up for their condition; following the prescribed medical guidelines
