    The study aims to compare the results of intervention open surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome using WALANT technique, wide awake local anesthesia in tourniquet, on pain control, decrease in hospital stay time and costs of surgery in an outpatient setting with the conventional anesthetic technique performed by the anesthesiologist in the operating room. The study population will consist of 48 patients diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, submitted to WALANT technique for open surgery of the transverse carpal ligament in the outpatient environment during the year 2022. Random numbers will be generated without repetition using excel, where patients with even identification numbers will be operated in the conventional operating room with the axillary anesthetic block performed by the anesthesiologist and the odd numbers operated in the office using the WALANT anesthetic technique. Patients will be followed up at the naval hospital of Recife up to six months after surgery

    O estudo objetiva comparar os resultados da intervenção cirúrgica aberta para síndrome do túnel do carpo utilizando técnica WALANT, wide awake local anesthesia no tourniquet, sobre o controle da dor, diminuição de tempo de internamento hospitalar e custos da cirurgia em ambiente ambulatorial com a técnica anestésica convencional realizada pelo anestesista em bloco cirúrgico. A população de estudo será composta de 48 pacientes, diagnosticados com síndrome do túnel do carpo, submetidos a técnica WALANT para a cirurgia aberta do ligamento transverso do carpo no ambiente ambulatorial durante o ano de 2022. Serão gerados números aleatórios sem repetição utilizando a excel, onde os pacientes com números de identificação par serão operados no centro cirúrgico convencional com o bloqueio anestésico axilar realizado pelo médico anestesiologista e os números ímpares operados no consultório utilizando a técnica anestésica WALANT.
