  This is a randomized experimental study. Individuals with autism of any age group and of both sexes will participate in the research. There will be at least two groups: experimental (GE) and control (CG). The GE will be composed of 50 individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) of the Association of Parents and Friends of the Exceptional (APAE) of Vila Velha - ES and Vitória - ES, as well as the Ambulatory of Neurology of the Faculty of Medicine of ABC, Santo André - SP, institutions that provide care for people with intellectual and / or multiple disabilities and / or autism. They work in the areas of rehabilitation, learning and inclusion in the labor market, aiming at social inclusion. These institutions currently provide services to 117 individuals with ASD. The CG will be composed of 50 individuals considered as typical development, matched by age and sex, members of the public school Dr. Geraldo José Rodrigues Alckmin in Potim - SP. Serious games with virtual reality (VR) developed by two research groups from two Brazilian Universities, the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC) and the University of São Paulo (USP) will be used. The Moviletrando and Dance2Rehab2D created by the Laboratory for Research on Visual Applications (LARVA - UDESC) and the Team Bridge Games coordinated by Prof. Dr. Luciano Vieira de Araújo, from the School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities of USP.

  Trata-se de um estudo experimental randomizado. Participarão da pesquisa indivíduos com autismo de qualquer faixa etária e de ambos os sexos. Serão compostos, no mínimo dois grupos: experimental (GE) e controle (GC). O GE será composto por 50 indivíduos diagnosticados com Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) da Associação de Pais e Amigos dos Excepcionais (APAE) de Vila Velha- ES e Vitória – ES, como também do Ambulatório de Neurologia da Faculdade de Medicina do ABC, Santo André – SP, instituições que prestam atendimento a pessoas com deficiência intelectual e/ou múltipla e/ou autismo. Atuam nas áreas de reabilitação, aprendizagem e inclusão no mercado de trabalho, visando à inclusão social. Estas instituições, atualmente, prestam serviços para 117 indivíduos com TEA. O GC será composto por 50 indivíduos considerados como desenvolvimento típico, pareados por idade e sexo, integrantes da escola pública Dr. Geraldo José Rodrigues Alckmin em Potim – SP. Serão utilizados jogos sérios com realidade virtual (RV) desenvolvidos por dois grupos de pesquisa de duas Universidades do Brasil, a Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina (UDESC) e Universidade de São Paulo (USP). O Moviletrando e o Dance2Rehab2D criados pelo Laboratory for Research on Visual Applications (LARVA – UDESC) e o Team Bridge Games coordenado pelo Prof. Dr. Luciano Vieira de Araújo, da Escola de Artes, Ciências e Humanidades da USP.

  Initially, all the individuals with a diagnosis of ASD; of both sexes; will be included in the study; who will follow up at APAE in Vitória-ES and Vila Velha-ES (for GE) and FMABC Outpatient Neurology; individuals with typical development; paired by age; and gender to the GE; members of the public school Dr. Geraldo José Rodrigues Alckmin in Potim, SP (for the GC).

• Exclusion criteria:

  Individuals who can not understand the orientations in relation to the proposed task; present some limitation of movement of the upper limbs; and / or limitation in visual acuity that prevents them from performing the game; and / or are unable or unwilling to complete the proposed task will be excluded from the research.

  There will be performance improvement in the virtual reality tasks of individuals with Autism. The improvement will be evaluated through the statistical difference between the time variables (recorded in milliseconds) that are stored by the system itself

  There will be a decrease in the number of errors in the virtual reality tasks of individuals with Autism. The decrease will be evaluated through the statistical difference in the number of correct answers and errors of the letters captured by the task (in absolute values).
