This is a two-arm, double-blind, randomized controlled clinical trial. The 20 participants will be randomly distributed into 2 groups of ten people through the Randomizer.com app. Patient data will be collected through anamnesis. And a physical therapist will be a blind evaluator, following a standardized evaluation form with the following items: i) general static inspection; ii) dynamic inspection of the cervical spine; iii) dynamic inspection of the thoracic spine; iv) hyoid bone mobility test; v) diaphragm amplitude and mobility test; vi) chest expansion using the measuring tape (cirtometry); vii) mobility test and stomach auscultation; viii) algometry. A second validated questionnaire will be applied to assess vocal performance and how much reflux interferes with singing. This will be applied by an invited blind evaluator speech therapist who has experience in its use. The intervention group (G1) will receive manual osteopathic treatment (OMT), following a protocol of manual therapy techniques aimed at normalizing body tissues. The study will consist of 4 sessions, with a weekly frequency and duration of 30 minutes. The control group (G2) will follow the same procedures for patient and therapist positioning and the same manual contacts described, however, the techniques will not be performed.

Trata-se de um estudo clínico randomizado controlado de dois braços, duplo-cego. Os 20 participantes serão distribuídos em 2 grupos de dez pessoas de forma aleatória através do aplicativo Randomizer.com. Os dados dos pacientes serão coletados através da anamnese. E um fisioterapeuta será avaliador cego, seguindo uma ficha de avaliação padronizada com os seguintes itens: i) inspeção estática geral; ii) inspeção dinâmica da coluna cervical; iii)inspeção dinâmica da coluna torácica; iv) teste de mobilidade do osso hióide; v) teste de amplitude e mobilidade do diafragma; vi) expansibilidade torácica através da fita métrica (cirtometria); vii) teste de mobilidade e ausculta do estômago; viii) algometria. Um segundo questionário validado será aplicado para avaliar a performance vocal e o quanto o refluxo interfere no ato de cantar. Este será aplicado por um fonoaudiólogo avaliador cego convidado e que possui experiência no uso do mesmo. O grupo intervenção (G1) receberá o tratamento manual osteopático (TMO), seguindo um protocolo de técnicas de terapia manual visando a normalização dos tecidos corporais. O estudo será composto por 4 atendimentos, com frequência semanal e duração de 30 minutos. O grupo controle (G2) seguirá com os mesmos procedimentos de posicionamentos do paciente e terapeuta e os mesmos contatos manuais descritos porém, as técnicas não serão executadas.

Singing individuals of both sexes will be admitted; with the diagnosis of reflux using the Reflux Symptom Index (RSI) questionnaire; be aged between 21 and 50 years; being an amateur singer complaining of reflux; being using or not taking medication for reflux; agree to the Free and Informed Consent Term (ICF)

The person who is an instrumentalist will be excluded; having trunk and/or head and/or neck surgery; having received osteopathic care in the last 3 months until the beginning of this research; being in speech therapy; use orthodontic appliance; have a diagnosis of hiatal hernia

To compare the findings identified by the evaluators through the reflux symptoms questionnaire, to determine the coherence of this tool in the execution of an osteopathic evaluation. With this, it will be possible to determine the effectiveness and feasibility of tests for osteopathic diagnosis.

It is believed that the present work presents minimal risks to its participants, and there may be discomfort on the part of the participant in relation to the techniques that will be used. To support this situation, special care will be taken so that the technique is performed on a working day of the week, in a ventilated and well-lit room, being an appropriate place to maintain the confidentiality of information and the identity of research participants, preventing them from suffering embarrassment. Physiological responses are expected in the osteopathic tests that will be applied. It should be noted that research participants will be guaranteed to withdraw from participating at any time in the research, and if they feel unable to participate.

Acredita-se que o presente trabalho apresente riscos mínimos aos seus participantes, podendo haver desconforto do participante em relação às técnicas que serão utilizadas. Para dar suporte a esta situação, haverá o cuidado especial para que a técnica seja realizada em um dia útil da semana, em uma sala ventilada e bem iluminada, sendo um local apropriado para manter o sigilo das informações e a identidade dos participantes de pesquisa, evitando que venham a sofrer constrangimento.
São esperadas respostas fisiológicas nos testes osteopáticos que serão aplicados. Cabe ressaltar que os participantes de pesquisa terão a garantia de desistir de participar a qualquer momento da pesquisa, e caso se sintam impossibilitados de participarem. -
Outcome measure:

The study will consist of 4 sessions, with a weekly frequency and duration of 30 minutes. The treatment applied in the intervention group (G1) will consist of the following techniques: i) DOG thoracic technique; ii) functional manipulation of the sternal manubrium; iii) pumping technique of the buttressing arcs; iv) technique for mobilizing the hyoid bone; v) phrenic center inhibition technique; vi) stretching technique of the sternocleidomastoid (SCOM) and carotid sheath; vii) anterior cervical fascia stretching technique; viii) direct manipulation technique for gastroesophageal junction. In the control group (G2), individuals will receive the same procedures, but without the techniques used in G1.

O estudo será composto por 4 atendimentos, com frequência semanal e duração de 30 minutos. O tratamento aplicado no grupo intervenção (G1) consistirá nas seguintes técnicas: i) DOG técnica torácica; ii) manipulação funcional do manúbrio esternal; iii) técnica de bombeio dos arcos botantes; iv) técnica para mobilização do osso hióide; v) técnica de inibição do centro frênico; vi) técnica de stretching do esternocleidomastoideo (ECOM) e bainha carotídea; vii) técnica de stretching das fáscias cervicais anteriores; viii) técnica de manipulação direta para junção gastroesofágica. Já no grupo controle (G2), os indivíduos receberão os mesmos procedimentos, porém sem as técnicas utilizadas no G1.
