Objective monitoring of neuromuscular function is the only resource capable of demonstrating the degree of neuromuscular blockade and the complete recovery of neuromuscular function after surgery. Among the patterns of neuromuscular monitoring is Train of Four (TOF). The value of TOF = 0.9 or, ideally 1.0, obtained with the neuromuscular junction monitor, indicate the level of recovery of the neuromuscular blockade for tracheal extubation. The Timed Inspiratory Effort (TIE) index is one of the predictive methods for weaning from mechanical ventilation used in intensive care units.During the anesthetic act, two simultaneous monitorings will be performed, TOF and TIE.The same patient will receive both interventions, with the TOF monitor considered the reference standard. Estimated 40 patients in the study.The correlation between TIE and TOF values will be performed in the same patient.The study does not have masking or randomization, because the values of two monitors will be compared in the same patient.

A monitorização objetiva da função neuromuscular é o único recurso capaz de demonstrar ao anestesiologista o grau de profundidade do bloqueio neuromuscular e a completa recuperação da função neuromuscular após a cirurgia. Dentre os padrões de estimulação neuromuscular há o índice Train of Four (TOF). O valor de TOF = 0,9 ou,idealmente 1,0, obtidos com o monitor da junção neuromuscular, indicam o nível de recuperação do bloqueio neuromuscular seguro para a extubação traqueal. O índice Timed Inspiratory Effort (TIE) é um dos métodos preditivos para o desmame da ventilação mecânica utilizado nas unidades de terapia intensiva. Durante o ato anestésico serão feitas duas monitorizações simultâneas, o TOF e o TIE.O mesmo paciente receberá as duas intervenções, sendo o monitor TOF considerado o padrão de referência. Estimativa de 40 pacientes no estudo. Será feita a correlação entre o valores do TIE e o TOF, no mesmo paciente. O estudo não tem mascaramento nem randomização, pois o serão comparados os valores de dois monitores no mesmo paciente.

both genders; age between 18 and 65 years; physical status American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) I to III; patients who will undergo elective surgeries under general anesthesia who do not require a dose of rocuronium maintenance

Exclusion criteria:

refusal to participate in the study; pregnancy or suspected pregnancy; presence of neuromuscular diseases, renal dysfunction (assessed by calculating the glomerular filtration rate) or hepatic (CHILD criteria); history or predictors of difficult airway; use of furosemide, aminoglycosides, aminophylin, azathioprine; cyclophosphamide, anti-inflammatory drugs and magnesium; allergy to the drugs used in the study; participants in other clinical studies.

Determine the TIE index value when the SQE value is 100%. It is expected to use the TIE index as a new monitor in anesthesia.
