    45 patients will be evaluated through the collection of the index of rapid shallow breathing (IRRS) daily during the period in which the patient remains in weaning. When weaning is completed and the patient able to be extubated second medical evaluation, he will undergo a spontaneous breathing for 30 min and the IRRS will again be evaluated before the test start spontaneous breathing and 30 min after its start

    Serão avaliados 45 pacientes através da coleta do índice de respiração rápida e superficial (IRRS) diariamente durante o período em que o paciente permanecer em desmame ventilatório. Quando o desmame estiver concluido e o paciente apto a ser extubado segundo avaliação médica, ele será submetido a um teste de respiração espontânea por 30 min e o IRRS novamente será avaliado antes do teste de iniciar o teste de  respiração espontânea e 30 min após seu inicio

                                                        Expected to form two distinct groups: patients who had successful withdrawal of mechanical ventilation and patients who had failed in withdrawal of mechanical ventilation. To analyze the outcome will be used to index rapid, shallow breathing where it is expected that patients with the index> 105 failure to have withdrawal of mechanical ventilation and index <105 succeed in withdrawal of mechanical ventilation

                                                        Espera-se que se formam dois grupos distintos: pacientes que tiveram sucesso na retirada da ventilação mecânica e pacientes que tiveram insucesso na retirada da ventilação mecânica. Para analise do desfecho sera utilizado o índice de respiração rápida e superficial onde espera-se que pacientes com o índice > 105 tenham insucesso na retirada da ventilação mecânica e com índice < 105 tenham sucesso na retirada da ventilação mecânica
