  Patients admited for elective non-cardiac surgery will be randomized into two groups according to online random number generator. 30 patients will be allocated in each group. In the first group, anesthesia induction will be performed with propofol intravenous bolus infusion and in the second group, with intravenous target controlled infusion. The following data will be registered during the first 10 minutes of anesthesia induction: mean arterial pressure, heart rate, bispectral index, supression rate, expired fraction of volatile anaesthetic (only in the bolus group).

  Pacientes admitidos para cirurgias eletivas não cardíacas serão separados em dois grupos de acordo com randomização em bloco realizada por gerador de números aleatórios online. Serão alocados 30 pacientes em cada grupo. O primeiro grupo será submetido a indução anestésica com infusão intravenosa de propofol em bólus e o segundo, com infusão intravenosa de propofol em bomba de infusão alvo controlada. Os seguintes parâmetros serão registrados durante 10 primeiros minutos da indução anestésica: pressão arterial média, frequência cardíaca, índice bispectral, taxa de supressão, fração expirada de anestésico inalatório (apenas para o grupo bólus).

  Incidence of hypotension after anesthesia induction with propofol in bolus infusion or target controlled infusion, measured by mean and standart deviation of mean arterial pressures, considering a reduction of at least 20% in the mean arterial pressures before and after induction.
