    Constituted through the application of the proposed therapy, which was performed in four weeks with a frequency of three sessions per week on alternate days.
In each interversion, patients from both group 1 (G1- 9 participants) of the Arnica gel and group 2 (G2- 8 participants) of the sodium diclofenac gel received stretching of the lower limb muscles and an exercise program to strengthen the quadriceps consisting of three sets of ten repetitions of the exercises: first with the patient in supine position with the roller under the knee, using one-kilogram shin pads for resistance and performing the knee extension; In the second exercise, the patient sat with the knee flexed at 90° and performed complete knee extension using one-kilogram shin guards. alternated.
In each interversion, patients from both group 1 (G1) of the Arnica gel and group 2 (G2) of the sodium Diclofenac gel received stretching of the lower limb muscles and an exercise program to strengthen the quadriceps consisting of three sets of ten repetitions of the exercises: first with the patient in supine position with the roller under the knee, using one-kilogram shin pads for resistance and performing the knee extension; second exercise, the patient was seated with the knee flexed at 90° and performed full knee extension using one-kilogram shin pads. The researcher was given the product to be applied as a means of coupling to perform the phonophoresis in equal bottles, closed and labeled according to the drawn name (gel 1 or gel 2). Patients were in supine position with a roller under the affected knee and then therapeutic ultrasound was applied to the medial or lateral tibiofemoral joint, depending on where the pain was most often reported by the patient, in a continuous mode at a frequency of 1 MHz and an intensity of 1 W/cm2 for a 10-minute treatment period.
 The choice of parameters to perform the phonophoresis was based on studies already carried out that show similar configurations. The studies include phonophoresis values ​​in continuous mode at an intensity between 1 to 1.5 W/cm2, frequency between 0.04 to 1 MHz and 5 to 30 minutes of application (MORAES et al., 2021).

As pacientes ficaram em decúbito dorsal com um rolo sob o joelho afetado e em seguida foi feita a aplicação do ultrassom terapêutico na articulação tibiofemoral medial ou lateral, dependendo de onde a dor for mais referida pela paciente, em modo contínuo a uma frequência de 1 MHz e uma intensidade de 1 W / cm2 por um período de tratamento de 10 minutos.
 A escolha dos parâmetros para realizar a fonoforese foi embasada em estudos já realizados que mostram configurações semelhantes.
