  The intervention tested in this present study will be the Short Intervention that can be defined as a brief and determined space of time between a health professional and the client, where information promotion, counseling, behavior change motivation strategies, Development of behavioral skills and harm reduction strategies during alcohol use, with the objective of reducing or controlling the consumption of the substance. The intervention will be performed by nurses researchers, linked to the Nursing School of the University of São Paulo, trained to perform the intervention. The brief intervention will be performed on women in a context of primary health care. For the selection of the participants, a screening will be carried out with all the women who attend the service, regardless of the reason for the demand, and will be invited those who present a pattern of risky or harmful alcohol consumption, with the availability of attending the service during the necessary period. The women who agree to participate in the research will then be randomized into 2 groups, the intervention group and the control group and considering the sample calculation, it will be necessary the recruitment of 68 women. Eligible women who are allocated to the intervention group will receive the brief intervention. The intervention will be delivered to the users through weekly meetings and the sessions will take place in the service itself, in reserved offices and will have a dose of two individual and face-to-face sessions, with an average duration of 20 to 30 minutes each. The users who will be allocated to the control group will not receive the brief intervention and will receive the usual care provided by the health service.

  A intervenção testada neste presente estudo será a Intervenção Breve que pode ser definida como um espaço breve e determinado de tempo entre um profissional da saúde e o cliente, onde é realizada a promoção de informação, o aconselhamento, estratégias de motivação de mudança de comportamento, desenvolvimento de habilidades comportamentais e estratégias de redução de danos durante o uso do álcool, com o objetivo de reduzir ou controlar o consumo da substância. A intervenção será realizada por pesquisadores enfermeiros, vinculados à Escola de Enfermagem da Universidade de São Paulo, capacitados para a realização da intervenção. A intervenção breve será realizada em mulheres em um contexto de atenção primária à saúde. Para a seleção das participantes será realizado um rastreamento com todas as mulheres que comparecerem ao serviço, independente do motivo da procura e serão convidadas aquelas que apresentarem padrão de consumo de álcool de risco ou nocivo, com disponibilidade de frequentar o serviço durante o período necessário. As mulheres que aceitarem participar da pesquisa serão então randomizadas em 2 grupos, o grupo intervenção e o grupo controle e considerando o cálculo de amostra, será necessário o recrutamento de 68 mulheres. As mulheres elegíveis que forem alocadas para o grupo intervenção, irão receber a Intervenção breve. A intervenção será entregue às usuárias por meio de encontros semanais e as sessões ocorrerão no próprio serviço, em consultórios reservados e terão uma dose de duas sessões individuais e presenciais, com duração média de 20 a 30 minutos cada. As usuárias que serão alocadas para o grupo controle não irão receber a intervenção breve e receberão o cuidado usual fornecido pelo serviço de saúde.
