  Experimental group 1: 30 patients (15 men and 15 women) with maxillary atresia will undergo maxillary expansion (of the mouth) and teeth with a device fixed at 4 teeth called Hyrax and evaluated after 6 months. Experimental group 2: 30 patients (15 men and 15 women) with maxillary atresia will undergo maxillary expansion (of the mouth) and teeth with a device fixed at 4 teeth and palate called Hass and evaluated after 6 months.

  Grupo experimental 1: 30 pacientes (15 homens e 15 mulheres) com atresia maxilar serão submetidos a expansão da maxila (céu da boca) e dentes com um aparelho fixado em 4 dentes chamado Hyrax e avaliados após 6 meses.   Patients with Angle Class I malocclusion and cross-bite or maxillary atresia; Patients with mixed dentition and acceptable oral health; Patients aged 7 -10 years , with first permanent molars in occlusion; Caucasian; Absence of agenesis, loss of permanent teeth and supernumerary teeth.
