  Only intervention group (where the patient is self-controlled): 40 patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease of both genders aged between 20 and 60 years. Procedures: In the first contact with the patient at the State Hospital of Ribeirão Preto, that is, on the day of data collection, a questionnaire on the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux (Questionnaire Velanovich validated in Portuguese). A clinical anamnesis will be carried out using a form approved by the research ethics committee. All the procedures that will be performed later will be explained in detail, and the informed consent form will be signed by the patient. The day will be scheduled for the examination at the Hospital of the Ribeirão Preto-Campus / University of Sao Paulo, of esophageal manometry to evaluate esophageal function and a 48-hour pHmetry test, measuring the amount of acid that goes up from the stomach into the esophagus for 48 hours, and how long that acid remains in the esophagus, and after the examination on the same day, the patient will be admitted to the research unit of the Hospital das Clínicas of Ribeirão Preto for a period of 48 hours, where he will be assisted by the research team, throughout the hospitalization period, with diet released, walks released, and will have a diary, where he will be guided and will make all the annotations, like schedule that i started and finished all meals, time that he lay down and raised, all the symptoms present during the period of hospitalization. In the 48 hours you will remain in the hospital, a lottery will be held to find out which day he will go to sleep without an anti-reflow mattress adapter and on which day he will sleep with the anti-reflux mattress adapter. After 48 hours, the patient receives the instructions of the specialist doctor responsible for him and his release will be released, and the research procedure will be concluded with this patient.

  Único Grupo de intervenção(Onde o paciente é controle dele mesmo): 40 pacientes portadores da doença do refluxo gastroesofágico de ambos o sexos com idade entre 20 e 60 anos. Procedimentos: No primeiro contato com o paciente no Hospital Estadual de Ribeirão Preto, ou seja, no dia da coleta de dados, será aplicado um questionário dos sintomas de refluxo gastroesofágico( Questionário Velanovich validado em português). Será realizada uma anamnese clínica mediante ficha aprovada pelo comitê de ética em pesquisa.Todos os procedimentos que serão realizados posteriormente, serão minuciosamente explicados, e o termo de consentimento livre e esclarecido será assinado pelo paciente.Será agendado o dia para realização do exame no Hospital das Clínicas de Ribeirão Preto- Campus/Universidade de São Paulo, de manometria esofágica para avaliar funcionamento do esôfago e exame de pHmetria de 48 horas, onde é medida a quantidade de ácido que sobe do estômago para o esôfago durante 48 horas, e quanto tempo esse ácido permanece no esôfago, e em seguida do exame,no mesmo dia, o paciente ficará internado na unidade de pesquisa do Hospital das Clínicas de Ribeirão Preto por um período de 48 horas,onde será assistido pela equipe de pesquisa, durante todo o período de internação, com dieta liberada,caminhadas liberadas, e terá um diário, onde será orientado e fará todas as anotações, como horário que iniciou e terminou todas as refeições, horário que deitou e levantou, todos os sintomas presentes no período de internação. Nas 48 horas em que permanecerá internado, será realizado um sorteio, para saber qual dia ele irá dormir sem adaptador de colchão antirrefluxo e qual dia ele irá dormir com o adaptador de colchão antirrefluxo. Após as 48 horas, o paciente recebe as orientações do médico especialista, responsável por ele e sua alta estará liberada,sendo encerrado o procedimento da pesquisa com este paciente.

  To demonstrate the influence of the anti-reflux mattress adapter in reducing the intensity of nocturnal gastroesophageal reflux, verified by the 48-hour pHmetry, from the observation between the day the volunteer slept with the anti-reflux mattress adapter and the day he slept without the anti-reflux mattress adapter.
