  Intervention - Experimental Group (GE): Duration of the intervention: 15 consecutive days (15 sessions), 15 minutes of physiotherapeutic intervention and 60 minutes of kangaroo positioning in each session. Number of participants: 20 Type of participants: preterm infants. Age: from 32 to 37 weeks postconceptional age. Description of the intervention: The infant will be positioned by the researcher in dorsal decubitus position. The protocol of physiotherapeutic intervention will begin with the handling of lumbosacral pompage, followed by posterior stretching, stretching of the cervical region, thoraco-humeral dissociation, exercise of feeling the head with the hands and, finally, the newborn will be positioned in decubitus in the incubator/crib to perform spontaneous movements. Then, the newborn will be placed in kangaroo position with his/her mother. Intervention - Control Group (CG): Duration of the intervention: 15 consecutive days (15 sessions), 15 minutes of positioning in the incubator/crib (this group will not receive the physiotherapeutic intervention protocol) and 60 minutes of kangaroo positioning with the mother in each session. Number of participants: 20 Type of participants: preterm infants. Age: from 32 to 37 weeks postconceptional age. Description of the intervention: The newborns of the control group will be submitted to the same procedures of the experimental group; however, they will only receive kangaroo positioning. Hence, the newborn will be positioned in the incubator / crib before being placed in the kangaroo positioning with the mother.

  Intervenção - Grupo Experimental (GE): Duração da intervenção: 15 dias consecutivos (15 sessões), 15 minutos de intervenção fisioterapêutica e 60 minutos de posicionamento canguru em cada sessão. Número de participantes: 20 Tipo de participantes: lactentes humanos pré-termo. Idade: período de 32 a 37 semanas de idade pós-concepcional. Descrição da intervenção: O lactente será posicionado pelo pesquisador em decúbito dorsal. O protocolo de intervenção fisioterapêutica iniciará pelo manuseio de pompagem lombossacral, seguido do manuseio de alongamento posterior, alongamento da região cervical, dissociação tóraco-umeral, exercício de sentir a cabeça com as mãos e, para finalizar, o recém-nascido será posicionado em decúbito dorsal na incubadora/berço para realizar movimentos espontâneos. Em seguida, o recém-nascido será colocado em posição canguru com sua mãe. Intervenção - Grupo Controle (GC): Duração da intervenção: 15 dias consecutivos (15 sessões), 15 minutos de posicionamento no berço/incubadora (este grupo não receberá o protocolo de intervenção fisioterapêutica) e 60 minutos de posicionamento canguru com a mãe em cada sessão. Número de participantes: 20 Tipo de participantes: lactentes humanos pré-termo. Idade: período de 32 a 37 semanas de idade pós-concepcional. Descrição da intervenção: Os recém-nascidos do grupo controle serão submetidos aos mesmos procedimentos do grupo experimental; entretanto, receberão apenas o posicionamento canguru. Desta forma, o recém-nascido será posicionado na incubadora/berço antes de ser posicionado em canguru com a mãe.

  Preterm newborns with corrected gestational age equal to or greater than 34 weeks; with more than 72 hours postnatal life; hospitalized in NICU; with stable clinical condition; with general movements of character poor-repertoire; without need of invasive or non-invasive mechanical ventilation; residents in Campo Grande-MS.

  Recém-nascidos pré-termo com idade gestacional corrigida igual ou maior a 34 semanas; com mais de 72 horas de vida pós-natal; internados em UCIN, com quadro clínico estável; com movimentos generalizados de característica pobre repertório; sem necessidade de ventilação mecânica invasiva ou não invasiva; residentes em Campo Grande-MS.

• Exclusion criteria:

  en

  Preterm newborns with congenital malformations; chromosomal syndromes; infections in treatment (change in blood count and positive blood culture); severe neurological injury (intracranial hemorrhage grade III or IV and cerebral malformations); neonatal anoxia (Apgar less than 7 in the fifth minute); congenital infection; with other contraindications to receive the physiotherapeutic intervention protocol and kangaroo positioning.
