  Experimental group: 20 nursing students who will participate in a class on the history and institutionalization of the Health Unic System, using the storytelling method; this intervention will last 2 hours. Control group: 20 nursing students who will participate in a traditional dialogued expository class on the same theme, without the use of storytelling, lasting 2 hours.

  Grupo experimental: 20 estudantes de enfermagem que participarão uma aula sobre o histórico e a institucionalização do Sistema Único de Saúde, por meio do uso do método storytelling; esta intervenção terá duração de 2 horas. Grupo controle: 20 estudantes de enfermagem que participarão de uma aula expositiva dialogada tradicional sobre a mesma temática, sem utilização de storytelling, com duração de 2 horas.

  students regularly enrolled in the 2nd period of the course; older than 18 years.

  students expected to leave for the next 15 days; students who have already participated in the previous assessment of the instrument (in any of the previous stages of the study); not completing the data collection instrument completely; non-participation in the second application of the post-test that will occur on the 15th day after the intervention.

  It is hoped that the results of this investigation can contribute to Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) for teaching public health nursing; such results will be evaluated through the use of storytelling, as an active learning methodology and, if a positive outcome is perceived in this teaching methodology, it is expected that the results can support its use in a way that favors the apprehension of knowledge and that promotes good development of professional practice.
