    Experimental group: 90 individuals with aged between 5 and 18 years, 30 of whom had cerebral palsy of the diparetic type, 30 with intellectual disability and 30 with Down's syndrome, who will receive treatment through the use of Equine therapy , once a week, lasting 30 minutes, with the horse in the step by step, transmitting to the practitioner, where the individual will receive various stimuli, through the three-dimensional movements of the horse that resemble the walking of the human being. Prior to the beginning of the care and at the end of the 15th care, the participants will be evaluated: muscular activity of the trunk and lower limbs by means of the surface electromyograph during the independent walking and riding in the equine therapy and the static and dynamic balance by means of the Pediatric Balance Scale (EEP) or Berg Balance Scale (BSE) according to the age of the individuals and indication of the age ranges of the scales.

    Grupo experimental: 90 indivíduos com idade entre 5 anos e 18 anos, dos quais 30 com paralisia cerebral do tipo diparética, 30 com deficiência intelectual e 30 com síndrome de Down, que receberão tratamento de equoterapia, uma vez uma semana, com duração de 30 minutos, com o cavalo ao passo, onde o indivíduo receberá através dos movimentos tridimensionais do cavalo vários estímulos, que se assemelham ao andar do ser humano. Anteriormente ao início dos atendimentos e ao final do 15º atendimento, os participantes serão avaliados quanto: atividade muscular do tronco e dos membros inferiores por meio do eletromiógrafo de superfície durante a marcha independente e a montaria na equoterapia e o equilíbrio estático e equilíbrio dinâmico por meio da Escala de Equilíbrio Pediátrica (EEP) ou da Escala de Equilíbrio de Berg (EEB) de acordo com a idade dos indivíduos e indicação das faixas etárias das escalas.

    Medical referral; be regularly enrolled in APAE / Uberaba-MG; present independent gait; both genders; aged between 5 and 18 years; signature of the term of responsibility for the practice of equine therapy by parents and / or guardian; Free and Informed Consent signed by parents and / or guardians; medical diagnosis according to each group (Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome and Intellectual Disability); the Cerebral Palsy group, only the spastic diparetic type individuals will be included.

    individuals with uncontrolled seizures; instabilities in the spine; herniated disc; shoulder and / or hip dislocations; scoliosis above 42 degrees; acute phase rheumatic processes; acute heart diseases; hydrocephalus with valve; uncontrollable fear of the animal, associated syndromes and / or behavioral changes; difficulty understanding commands / tasks; do not make frequent use of drugs such as botulinum toxin that interfere in muscle activity specifically of the muscle groups to be evaluated in this study; abandonment and / or 2 consecutive absences.

                                                        Equoterapia improves muscle activity of the trunk and lower limbs and the dynamic and static balance of individuals with Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disability and Down Syndrome during the period of the visits and with duration of benefits for one year. Just as the muscle activity of the trunk and lower limbs will be similar between independent human gait and riding in equine therapy. The muscular activity will be verified by means of the surface electromyograph apparatus and the static and dynamical balance through the pediatric or Berg balance scales. A quantitative statistical analysis of 5% probability will be adopted in pre and post-equine measurements.

                                                        A Equoterapia melhora da atividade muscular de tronco e membros inferiores e do equilíbrio dinâmico e estático de indivíduos com Paralisia Cerebral, Deficiência Intelectual e Síndrome de Down no decorrer do período dos atendimentos e com duração dos benefícios por um ano. Assim como a atividade muscular de tronco e membros inferiores será semelhante entre a marcha humana independente e a montaria na equoterapia. A atividade muscular será verificada por meio do aparelho eletromiógrafo de superfície e o equilíbrio estático e dinâminco por meio das escalas de equilíbrio Pediátrica ou de Berg.
