  This randomized clinical study with three parallel groups will select 144 patients with permanent teeth, between 13 and 50 years old, of both sexes, who use upper and lower fixed braces, with good health and a minimum of 20 permanent teeth. Patients will be randomly distributed into three groups with an allocation ratio (1:1:1) with different toothbrush designs: Oral-B orthodontic brush (EO), developed for users of orthodontic appliances, Oral-B Classic conventional toothbrush ( EC) and a low-cost basic brush (EB). To evaluate the proposed objectives, the following will be used: Visual Comforti index, to evaluate the durability of the brushes and the Silness & Loe Modified Plaque and Loe & Silness Gingival indices. Data will be obtained at the beginning (T0), 1 month (T1), 2 months (T2) and at the end (T3). The willing to pay index (WTP) will be evaluated at the end (T3) to verify the level of patient satisfaction. The order of use and allocation of toothbrushes will be blind to the examiner responsible for data collection.

  Este estudo clínico randomizado com três grupos paralelos irá selecionar 144 pacientes na dentição permanente, entre 13 e 50 anos, de ambos os sexos, que utilizem aparelho fixo superior e inferior, com boa condição de saúde e um mínimo de 20 dentes permanentes. Os pacientes em serão aleatoriamente distribuídos em três grupos com taxa de alocação (1:1:1) com diferentes desenhos de escova dental: escova ortodôntica Oral-B (EO), desenvolvida para usuários de aparelhos ortodônticos, escova convencional Oral-B Classic (EC) e uma escova básica de baixo custo (EB). Para avaliação dos objetivos propostos serão utilizados: índice Visual de Conforti, para avaliação da durabilidade das escovas e os índices de Placa Modificado de Silness & Loe e Gengival de Loe & Silness. Os dados serão obtidos ao início (T0), 1 mês (T1), 2 meses (T2) e ao final (T3). O índice disposto a pagar (WTP) será avaliado ao final (T3) para verificar o nível de satisfação do paciente. A ordem de uso e alocação das escovas dentais serão cegas para o examinador responsável pela coleta de dados.

  Patients with active caries; patients with dental development defects; pregnant women; patients with systemic diseases (diabetics or smokers); patients using medications that may affect gingival health (such as calcium channel blockers; cyclosporine and anticoagulants) will be previously excluded; individuals allergic to the plaque discloser and who have limited manual dexterity and cognitive difficulties; cleft lip and palate; syndromes and/or craniofacial anomalies
