Interventions

• Interventions:

  Participants will answer a questionnaire carried out by the examiner structured with questions regarding their habits (smoking, oral hygiene), general health situation (cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, allergies) and medication use. The clinical examination will be carried out by a trained and calibrated examiner to assess periodontal conditions. For the registration of periodontal conditions, a flat mouth mirror and a millimetric periodontal probe will be used. All erupted permanent teeth, excluding third molars, will be examined. The parameters will be recorded at six sites per tooth, and based on the median bleeding rate on probing they will be allocated into two groups: Low Bleeding (n = 40) and High Bleeding (n = 40). To assess the muscle profile of each group, the serum values ​​of the following tests will be analyzed: complete blood count, creatine kinase (CK), c-reactive protein (CRP), aldolase (ALS), lactate dehydrogenase 5, testosterone, cortisol, creatinine and aspartate -aminotransferase (AST). Blood collections will be performed by trained professionals from a clinical analysis laboratory. Two collection moments will be performed, one before the start of treatment for gingivitis and the other after three months of disease control. The samples will be stored and processed according to the protocol established and used for each purpose, followed by the laboratory. In this way, the risks of failure to store and process the samples will be reduced. For collections, patients will fast for 8 hours, as indicated by the laboratory. To reduce the chronobiological influence, linear or cyclic, samples will be collected from 9 am (9 am), in the morning. Participants will not be able to perform any type of physical activity in the week prior to biochemical tests. After the first clinical examination and the initial biochemical examination, patients will start treatment for gingivitis, which will consist of scraping and straightening with periodontal curettes and polishing with pumice paste and water with the help of a robinson brush. The patient will also be instructed on dental hygiene and brushing techniques. Afterwards, the clinical and laboratory exam will be repeated.

  Os participantes responderão a um questionário realizado pelo examinador estruturado com perguntas referentes a seus hábitos (fumo, higiene bucal), situação de saúde geral (doenças cardiovasculares, diabetes, alergias) e uso de medicamentos. O exame clínico será realizado por um examinador treinado e calibrado para acessar as condições periodontais. Para o registro das condições periodontais, serão utilizados espelho bucal plano e sonda periodontal milimetrada. Todos os dentes permanentes erupcionados, excluindo-se os terceiros molares, serão examinados. Os parâmetros serão registrados em seis sítios por dente, e com base na mediana do índice de sangramento à sondagem serão alocados em dois grupos: Baixo Sangramento (n=40) e Alto Sangramento (n=40). Para avaliação do perfil muscular de cada grupo, serão analisados os valores séricos dos seguintes exames: hemograma completo, creatina quinase (CK), proteína c reativa (PCR), aldolase (ALS), lactato desidrogenase 5, testosterona, cortisol, creatinina e aspartato-aminotransferase (AST). As coletas de sangue serão realizadas por profissionais treinados de um laboratório de análises clínicas. Serão realizados dois momentos de coletas, sendo um antes do início do tratamento para gengivite e outro após três meses de controle da doença. As amostras serão armazenadas e processadas de acordo com o protocolo estabelecido e utilizado para cada finalidade, seguido pelo laboratório. Desta forma, os riscos de falha de armazenamento e processamento das amostras serão reduzidos. Para as coletas, os pacientes farão jejum de 8 horas, conforme indicação laboratorial. Para reduzir a influência cronobiológica, linear ou cíclica, as amostras serão coletadas a partir das nove horas (9h), no período da manhã. Os participantes não poderão realizar qualquer tipo de atividade física na semana anterior aos exames bioquímicos. Após o primeiro exame clínico e o exame inicial bioquímico, os pacientes iniciarão o tratamento para gengivite que será composto por raspagem e alisamento com curetas periodontais e polimento com pasta de pedra pomes e agua com o auxilio de uma escova robinson. O paciente será orientado também sobre a higiene dental e técnicas de escovação. Após, será realizado a repetição do exame clínico e laboratorial.

  The expected primary outcome will be the improvement in the parameters of serum creatine kinase values, an indicator of muscle profile linked to tissue damage, which is widely used. The evaluation will be carried out through blood tests, which will be used to monitor the behavior of the variation of this indicator, during the periodontal clinical treatment. The reference values indicated by the literature are 26-189 U / L (men) and 26-155 U / L (women) and will serve as a guideline for the analyzes. Although there is a range of values corresponding to normality, the indicator can vary within these limits, suggesting that the clinical treatment performed was able to act on the values.

  O desfecho primário esperado será a melhoria dos parâmetros dos valores séricos de creatina quinase, um indicador de perfil muscular ligado ao dano tecidual, amplamente utilizado. A avaliação será realizada através de exames de sangue, que será utilizado para acompanhar o comportamento da variação deste indicador, ao longo do tratamento clínico periodontal. Os valores de referência indicados pela literatura são de 26-189 U/L (homens) e 26-155 U/L (mulheres) e servirão de guipa para as análises.
