  This is a three-arm, single-blind, randomized controlled clinical trial for participants. Experimental group: 14 infertile women received Reiki for 10 minutes in the umbilical and cardiac chakra. Placebo group: 13 infertile women received only laying on of hands, without any reiki or similar technique applied for 10 minutes on the umbilical and cardiac chakra. The experimental group and placebo received intervention at 3 moments of the treatment, which lasted an average of 15 days. Cont Group

  Trata-se de um estudo clínico randomizado controlado de três braços, simple-cego para as participantes. Grupo experimental: 14 mulheres inférteis receberam Reiki por 10 minutos no chakra umbilical e cardíaco. Grupo placebo: 13 mulheres inférteis receberam apenas imposição de mãos, sem nenhuma técnica de reiki ou similar aplicado por 10 minutos no chakra umbilical e cardíaco. Grupo experimental e placebo receberam intervenção em 3 momentos do tratamento, que durou uma média de 15 dias. Grupo controle: 13 mulheres inférteis que não receberam intervenção.

  Introduction: The expansion of advanced, innovative, integrative and effective therapeutic approaches in assisted reproduction in infertile women is considered a challenge. The use of Reiki as a safe and complementary therapy has shown positive clinical outcomes in the context of health. Objective: To evaluate the level of stress, anxiety and pregnancy rate in infertile women in assisted reproduction with Reiki application, concomitant with assisted reproduction treatment.Method: randomized, single-blind, experimental controlled clinical trial. Participants were 40 women between 18 and 42 years of age, diagnosed with infertility undergoing treatment at the marital infertility outpatient clinic of a public hospital, divided into three groups - Reiki (G1), Sham (G2) and Control (G3). The variables evaluated were anxiety and stress level and pregnancy rate. The psychometric scales Fertility Problems Inventory and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Measurement Scale were used, as well as a questionnaire containing sociodemographic and clinical data and knowledge about integrative practices and Reiki. The analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and IBM® SPSS® Statistics version 25 and R i386 v.3.4.0. Results: Most of the participants were between 36 and 42 years old, married or in a stable union (95%), had completed university education (65%), were white (70%), had an average family income of three to five minimum wages (50%), were self-employed (82.5%), practiced Catholic (70%), had sex between one and three times a week (90%), had previous comorbidity (45%), normal weight (42.5%), low alcohol consumption (52.5%) and absence of smoking and sexually transmitted infections (100%),have already undergone assisted reproduction treatment (62.5%) and 77.5% have never received Reiki.The gestational success rate was higher (42.9%) in the Reiki group than in the others.Anxiety levels decreased in the difference between study times for the Reiki (p=0.02) and Placebo (p=0.01) groups. There was no statistical difference for stress in the study groups. Conclusion: Reiki contributed to the reduction of anxiety in infertile women undergoing treatment in Assisted Reproduction, with a positive impact on the anxiety levels of the Reiki and placebo groups and impacted the gestational success rate of the Reiki group

A utilização do Reiki, como terapia segura e complementar, vem apontando desfechos clínicos positivos no contexto da saúde. Objetivo: Avaliar o nível de estresse, ansiedade e taxa de gestação em mulheres inférteis na reprodução assistida com aplicação do Reiki, concomitante ao tratamento na reprodução assistida. Método: ensaio clínico controlado, aleatorizado, simples cego e experimental. Participaram 40 mulheres entre 18 a 42 anos, com diagnóstico de infertilidade em tratamento no ambulatório de infertilidade conjugal de um hospital público, distribuídas em três grupos - Reiki (G1), Sham (G2) e Controle (G3). As variáveis avaliadas foram nível de ansiedade e estresse e taxa gestacional. Utilizou-se as escalas psicométricas Inventário de Problemas de Fertilidade e Escala de Medida de Ansiedade e Depressão Hospitalar e um questionário contendo dados sociodemográfico, clínico e conhecimento sobre práticas integrativas e Reiki. A análise foi processada por estatística descritiva e os programas IBM® SPSS® Statistics versão 25 e R i386 v.3.4.0. Resultados: A maioria das participantes tinha entre 36 e 42 anos, era casada ou união estável (95%), ensino universitário completo (65%), brancas (70%), renda familiar média de três a cinco salários-mínimos (50%), profissionais liberais (82,5%), católica praticante (70%), nuligestas (70%), praticavam sexo entre uma e três vezes por semana (90%), comorbidade prévia (45%), peso normal (42,5%), baixo consumo álcool (52,5%) e ausência de tabagismo e infecções sexualmente transmissíveis (100%), já realizaram tratamento na reprodução assistida (62,5%) e 77,5% nunca receberam Reiki. A taxa de sucesso gestacional foi maior (42,9%) no grupo Reiki em relação aos demais. Os níveis de ansiedade reduziram na diferença dos tempos do estudo para o grupo Reiki (p=0,02) e Placebo (p=0,01). Não houve diferença estatística para o estresse nos grupos de estudo. Conclusão: O Reiki contribuiu para a redução da ansiedade de mulheres inférteis em tratamento na Reprodução Assistida, com impacto positivo nos níveis de ansiedade do grupo Reiki e placebo e impactou na taxa de sucesso gestacional do grupo Reiki
