  Intervention - Experimental Group (EG) Frequency and total time of the intervention: 3 sessions, for 4 minutes each. Number of participants: 10 Type of participants: healthy term human infants. Positioning of the physiotherapist: trunk supported, with the legs slightly apart, with hips and knees flexed at about 120 ° and 50 ° degrees, respectively, measured using a goniometer. On your knees should be placed a small pillow, and on this, the head of the infant. This will encourage the infant to remain face to face with the examiner, with the neck in semi-flexion, facilitating alignment between head and trunk, and hands in the midline, within the visual field. Description of intervention: Each session will consist of three activities, no repetition of the same task consecutively (ie, ABC, ABC, ABC): (A) the investigator must hold the object in one hand, in the midline and the xiphoid process at the time of the infant, and with the other hand, hold the infant's right forearm in order to lead to the same right hand toward the object to touch it. Perform this procedure three times. The same procedure should be repeated for the left hand (80segundos), (B) the investigator must hold the object in one hand, in the midline and the xiphoid process at the time of the infant, and with the other hand, hold the forearm right-infant in order to position the right hand of the same within your field of vision for a few seconds. If the infant does not touch or explore the object with the hand spontaneously, the researcher held tactile object with the right hand of the infant. This procedure should be performed three times. The same procedure should be repeated for the left hand (80 seconds), (C) the upper limbs of the infant should be positioned along the body. The same procedure should be repeated for the left arm (80 seconds). Intervention - Control Group (CG) Frequency and total time of the intervention: 3 sessions, for 4 minutes each. Description of intervention: the physiotherapist interacts with the infant visually and verbally, but without making stimuli in their upper limbs or presenting objects in each session.

Número de participantes: 10 Tipo de participantes: Lactentes humanos a termo saudáveis Posicionamento do fisioterapeuta: tronco apoiado, estando os membros inferiores levemente afastados, com quadris e joelhos fletidos por volta de 120° e 50° graus, respectivamente, aferido por meio de goniômetro. Sobre seus joelhos, deverá ser colocado um travesseiro pequeno e, sobre este, a cabeça do lactente. Este procedimento irá favorecer que o lactente permaneça face a face com o examinador, com o pescoço em semi-flexão, facilitando o alinhamento entre cabeça e tronco, e as mãos na linha média, dentro de seu campo visual. Descrição da intervenção: Cada sessão será composta por três atividades, de forma que não ocorra a repetição da mesma tarefa em tentativas consecutivas (i.e., ABC, ABC, ABC): (A) o pesquisador deverá segurar o objeto em uma das mãos, na linha média e na altura do processo xifóide do lactente, e com a outra mão, segurar o antebraço direito do lactente de forma a conduzir a mão direita do mesmo em direção ao objeto até tocá-lo. Realizar tal procedimento por três vezes. O mesmo procedimento anterior deverá ser repetido para a mão esquerda (80segundos); (B) o pesquisador deverá segurar o objeto em uma das mãos, na linha média e na altura do processo xifóide do lactente, e com a outra mão, segurar o antebraço direito do lactente de modo a posicionar a mão direita do mesmo dentro do seu campo visual por alguns segundos. Caso o lactente não toque ou explore o objeto com a mão espontaneamente, o pesquisador realizará estímulos táteis com o objeto na mão direita do lactente. Esse procedimento deverá ser realizado por três vezes . O mesmo procedimento anterior deverá ser repetido para a mão esquerda (80 segundos); (C) os membros superiores do lactente deverão estar posicionados ao longo do corpo. O pesquisador deverá realizar estímulos táteis com o objeto no braço e antebraço direito do lactente e levar o objeto até a linha média na altura do processo xifóide, dentro do campo visual do lactente. O pesquisador deverá aguardar alguns segundos para permitir que o lactente realize movimentos espontâneos uni ou multi-articulares dos membros superiores. Esse procedimento deverá ser repetido por três vezes. Cada vez que a criança tocar o objeto, o pesquisador deverá, com sorriso na face, elogiá-lo. Caso o lactente venha a apreender o objeto, o pesquisador deverá deixá-lo explorar. O mesmo procedimento anterior deverá ser repetido para o membro superior esquerdo (80 segundos). Intervenção - Grupo Controle (GC): Frequência e tempo total da intervenção: 3 sessões, durante 4 minutos cada. Número de participantes: 10 Tipo de participante: Lactentes humanos a termo tardios saudáveis Posicionamento do fisioterapeuta: mesmo descrita para o GE. Descrição da intervenção: o fisioterapeuta interagirá com o lactente visual e verbalmente, mas sem realizar estímulos em seus membros superiores ou apresentar-lhe objetos em cada sessão.

  To meet the eligibility criteria, infants had a birth weight between percentiles 10 and 90 on the growth curve, Apgar scores greater than or equal to seven in the first and fifth minutes, adequate motor performance according to the Alberta Infant Motor Scale (AIMS), were in maternal care and not in day care centers.

  Não farão parte do estudo as crianças que tenham nascido com idade gestacional inferior a 37 semanas, com baixo peso ao nascimento (abaixo de 2500g), com pontuação de Apgar inferior a sete no primeiro e quinto minuto de vida e aqueles que apresentarem: alterações congênitas no sistema nervoso central, sinais de comprometimento neurológico, alterações músculo esqueléticos, diagnóstico de síndromes genéticas ou sintomas de crise de abstinência associado ao relato de abuso materno de álcool e drogas, infecções congênitas, déficits sensoriais, dificuldades cardiorrespiratórias ou cujas mães tenham apresentado episódio de eclampsia ou pré-eclampsia.
