Presentation of outcome 2 found: The mean age of patients was 61 years, most of the sample (72.2%) was composed of white patients, and their main comorbidity was Diabetes Mellitus (27.7%). A total of 17 patients were alcoholics and 15 patients were smokers. The operated side was dominant in 46 patients (64%). There was great variation in the time of onset of the disease, with an average of 6 years. A total of 40 patients (57%) reported manual labor. Eight patients had Ledderhose disease and only one patient had Peyronie's disease.

Presentation of the outcome 3 found: The McCash incision technique proved to be superior to the Bruner technique in relation to the occurrence of postoperative complications, in most types of complications observed, being statistically significant in its sample calculation. However, in terms of postoperative pain, there is pain superiority in the McCash group.

Porém, no quesito dor pós operatória, existe superioridade da dor no grupo McCash

The purpose of this study is to compare the degree of patient satisfaction with the final scar, when the surgical treatment is performed, performed by both techniques (Bruner and McCash incision), when the appropriate surgical treatment is performed, in the partial fasciectomy of the palmar fascia. To this end, patients were monitored weekly for an initial period of 3 months and then monthly, until the sixth postoperative month. The assessment of the degree of patient satisfaction was measured through clinimetric parameters through which questionnaires were answered through interviews. The questionnaires used were the visual analogue scale, the Vancouver questionnaire and the POSAS questionnaire, both translated and culturally validated for the Portuguese language. The study was subsidized by the author's own resources, and the study is in its final phase, having already evaluated the last patient in the study, having already performed the statistical analysis, awaiting authorization from the REBEC platform to send the manuscript to the Publication.

Participants flow:

72 patients started the study. The initial number of the sample was 60 patients, however, assuming a sample loss of up to 20%, 12 more patients were added to the total sample due to the possibility of sample loss, due to the COVID - 19 pandemic. No we had a sample loss due to the weekly follow-up due to the close contact of the researcher, therefore, the final number of the sample was 72 patients, the same number that started the study. We had no patients excluded from the study.

Iniciaram o estudo 72 pacientes.

Adverse events:

Adverse events (complications) were considered to be dehiscence, pain, hematoma, infection and necrosis. A higher frequency of complications was observed in the Bruner group compared to the McCash group, with statistical significance, however, there is pain superiority in the McCash group.

Results summary:
en
It is noticed that there is no significant difference in the visual analogue scale between mild and severe stages, whether for patients operated on by the Bruner (p=0.1506) or McCash (p=0.9) technique. However, there is a significant difference according to the technique with the best results for McCash, that is, patients operated on by Bruner have a worse evaluation (higher mean) in relation to those operated on by McCash.
The same analysis above applies to patients assessed by the Vancouver Healing Scale. There was no statistically significant difference between patients in the two groups (mild or severe), and we again observed the superiority of the McCash technique when compared to the Bruner technique.
In POSAS-Observador, the result of the comparison between both techniques also shows statistical superiority for the McCash technique. In POSAS-Patient, the result of the comparison between both techniques also shows statistical superiority, however, when comparing patients with mild Tubian classification, there is no advantage in relation to either technique.
Due to the global health crisis, due to COVID-19, 20% (12 patients) were admitted more than the expected sample value, so as not to harm the statistical calculation. This possible loss did not materialize, and we included 12 more patients in the sample, totaling 72 patients in the sample.pt-br
