    To propose a new method of selective strengthening for the intrinsic musculature of the foot in volunteers with medical diagnosis of type II diabetes. 30 Participants will be allocated to their respective groups by lottery. The groups will consist of a selective group (GS = 15) and the control group (CG = 15), both composed by volunteers with a medical diagnosis of type II diabetes. The procedure will be of a completely randomized design, to verify the effect of the therapy
of selective strengthening of the intrinsic musculature of the foot in GS compared to GC; to verify the post-intervention effect of selective strengthening therapy of the intrinsic musculature of the GS foot compared to the CG group that will receive the intervention. After initial data collection, volunteers were allocated into two groups by means of randomization: Group
Selective (GS) - will perform the strengthening procedure (selective group for flexor muscles
intrinsic and extrinsic of the foot by means of a new technique; Control group (CG) - will use the
a traditional technique for the strengthening of the intrinsic and extrinsic flexor muscles of the foot. The groups
three weekly sessions of approximately 30 minutes and will be evaluated at the beginning and after 20 intervention sessions. There will be a wash out period of four weeks, groups will be relocated
so cross over. The evaluation procedures adopted in the study will be: analysis of the
neuropathic symptoms, baropodometry, computerized photogrammetry, electromyography and force analysis
of the flexor muscles of each toe.

    Propor um novo método de fortalecimento seletivo para a musculatura intrínseca do pé em voluntários com diagnóstico médico de diabetes tipo II.  Os 30 participantes serão alocados em seus respectivos grupos por meio de sorteio. Os grupos serão formados por um grupo seletivo (GS = 15) e o grupo controle (GC = 15), ambos compostos por voluntários com diagnóstico médico de diabetes tipo II. O procedimento será de delineamento inteiramente ao acaso, para verificar o efeito da terapia
de fortalecimento seletivo da musculatura intrínseca do pé no GS em comparação com o GC; verificar o efeito pós-intervenção da terapia de fortalecimento seletivo da musculatura intrínseca do pé do GS em comparação ao grupo GC que passará a receber a intervenção. Após coleta inicial de dados, os voluntários alocados em dois grupos por meio de randomização: Grupo
Seletivo (GS) – realizará o procedimento de fortalecimento (grupo seletivo para a musculatura flexora
intrínseca e extrínseca do pé por meio de uma nova técnica; Grupo controle (GC) – realizará o uso da
técnica tradicional para o fortalecimento da musculatura flexora intrínseca e extrínseca do pé. Os grupos
realizarão três sessões semanais de aproximadamente 30min e serão avaliados no início e após 20 sessões de intervenção. Haverá um período de wash out de quatro semanas, os grupos serão realocados
de modo cross over. Os procedimentos de avaliação adotados no estudo serão: análise do escore de
sintomas neuropáticos, baropodometria, fotogrametria computadorizada, eletromiografia e análise de força

    Type II diabetes mellitus, according to American Diabetes Association criteria; between 20 and 70 years old; of both sexes; in diet therapy or with oral antidiabetic drugs  and signing the term of free and informed consent.
