  50 patients who had their teeth replanted and treated endodontically were selected. The radiographic evaluation was performed with periapical radiographs taken next to replantation and after 1 year follow-up. To determine the gene polymorphisms, the DNA was collected from oral mucosa cells, and the analysis performed by Real Time-PCR.

  50 pacientes que sofreram avulsão e tiveram seus dentes reimplantados, acompanhados e tratados foram selecionados. A análise radiográfica foi feita comparando a radiografia obtida logo após o trauma com outra após 1 ano de controle. Para determinar os polimorfismo genéticos, o DNA de células da mucosa bucal foi coletado e analisado por PCR em tempo real.

Outcomes

  Statistical analyses were performed by 21.0 SPSS version. The non-parametric Mann-Whitney test was used to analyze quantitative variables. Categorical variables were analyzed by chi-square test or Fisher's exact test. P values lower than 0.05 were considered significant. For the multivariate analysis, the binary logistic regression model was fitted to analyze the genotype frequencies, including the variables with significance set at p lower than 0.20.The univariate analysis was used to associate age, extra-alveolar time and the storage medium with root resorption. After multivariate analysis, the extra-alveolar time longer than one hour and the G allele of rs2069843 of the IL6 gene were significantly associated with external root resorption.

  As análises estatísticas foram realizadas no SPSS versão 21.0. O teste não-paramétrico de Mann-Whitney foi usado para analisar as variáveis quantitativas. Variáveis categóricas foram analisadas pelo teste qui-quadrado de Pearson ou teste exato de Fisher. Valores de p menores que 0,05 foram considerados significantes. Para a análise multivariada, o modelo de regressão logística binária foi ajustado para analisar as frequências genotípicas, incluindo as variáveis com significância de p menor que 0,20. Na análise univariada, a idade, o tempo extra-alveolar e o meio de armazenamento associaram-se à reabsorção radicular externa. Após a análise multivariada, o tempo extra-alveolar superior a uma hora e o alelo G do rs2069843 do gene IL6 associaram-se significativamente com a reabsorção radicular externa.
