  The study will be conducted as a randomized, split-mouth, double-blind clinical trial in patients with stage II or stage III periodontitis with at least 12 teeth in the oral cavity. Fifteen patients will be selected according to the inclusion criteria. The study will be a split-mouth design with contralateral teeth, with periodontal pockets of at least 5 mm, where each side will receive one of the following treatments: Scaling and Root Planing (SRP) associated with irrigation with 1% chlorhexidine gel or Scaling and Root Planing (SRP) associated with irrigation with ozonized oil gel. The allocation of treatments will be predetermined by means of a randomization sequence created by an independent researcher, not involved in any stage of care or evaluation. This sequence will be organized in opaque, sealed, and numbered envelopes, which will only be opened at the time of treatment application, exclusively by the operator responsible for inserting the gels. To ensure blinding, the operator applying the gel will not participate in the collection of clinical parameters. The examiner responsible for evaluating clinical parameters, as well as for collecting gingival crevicular fluid, will not have access to randomization information; patients will not be informed which hemiarch received each treatment; the gels will be manipulated with similar visual and consistency characteristics, allowing application without spontaneous identification of the products; laboratory samples will be coded with numerical identification, ensuring that the professional responsible for the analyses also remains blind to the experimental group. The Plaque Index (PI), Bleeding on Probing (BOP), Probing Depth (PD), Clinical Attachment Level (CAL), the amount of gingival crevicular fluid, and the quantification of the growth factor TGF-β1 by the ELISA assay method will be evaluated at 0, 1, 3, and 6 months.

  O estudo será realizado em forma de ensaio clínico randomizado, boca dividida, duplo cego em pacientes com periodontite estágio II ou estágio III com pelo menos 12 dentes na cavidade oral. Serão selecionados 15 pacientes de acordo com os critérios de inclusão. O estudo realizado será do tipo boca dividida em dentes contralaterais, com bolsas periodontais de no mínimo 5mm, onde cada lado receberá um dos seguintes tratamentos: Raspagem e Alisamento Radicular (RAR) associado a irrigação com gel de clorexidina a 1% ou Raspagem e Alisamento Radicular (RAR) associada a irrigação com gel de óleo ozonizado. A alocação dos tratamentos será definida previamente por meio de sequência de randomização confeccionada por um pesquisador independente, não envolvido em nenhuma etapa de atendimento ou avaliação. Essa sequência será organizada em envelopes opacos, lacrados e numerados, que serão abertos apenas no momento da aplicação do tratamento, exclusivamente pelo operador responsável pela inserção dos géis. Para garantir o cegamento, o operador que aplicará o gel não participará da coleta dos parâmetros clínicos; o examinador responsável pela avaliação dos parâmetros clínicos, bem como pela coleta de fluido crevicular gengival, não terá acesso às informações de randomização; os pacientes não serão informados sobre qual hemiarcada recebeu cada tratamento; os géis serão manipulados com características visuais e de consistência semelhantes, permitindo aplicação sem identificação espontânea dos produtos; as amostras laboratoriais serão codificadas com identificação numérica, garantindo que o profissional responsável pelas análises também permaneça cego quanto ao grupo experimental. Serão avaliados o Índice de Placa (IP), Sangramento a Sondagem (SS), Profundidade de Sondagem (PS), Nível Clínico de Inserção (NCI), a quantidade de fluido crevicular gengival e a quantificação do fator de crescimento TGF-β1 pelo método de ensaio de ELISA, nos períodos 0, 1, 3 e 6 meses.

  Age between 25 and 65 years. Both sexes. Presence of at least 12 teeth in the oral cavity, with at least 3 elements per hemiarch (excluding third molars). Diagnosis of Stage II or III Grade A periodontitis (bilateral periodontal pockets with Clinical Attachment Level (CAL) greater than or equal to 5mm)
