This is a quasi-experimental, non-randomized study using a convenience sample. The target sample consisted of 80 participants. The total number of participants was 30 elderly individuals in two groups: the control group with 16 participants and the intervention group with 14. The study was non-randomized; participants chose which group they wished to belong to during recruitment. Of the 68 elderly individuals approached, 30 agreed to participate in the study, being allocated according to their preference and availability. Pre-intervention: In this phase, pre-intervention and pre-test data were collected using the instruments described below, with the acceptance and availability of the elderly individual in question. These included a questionnaire with biopsychosocial aspects and questions about the impact of previous participation in the program on the elderly individual's life, followed by the Instrumental Activities of Daily Living Scale (IADL), the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS), the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) by telephone, as well as a scale on the acceptance of technology by the elderly and a questionnaire on factors that interfere with the use of electronic devices. Intervention: The activities were conducted in instant messaging groups for 3 months, with 13 weeks of cognitive stimulation activities, held twice a week for 1 hour each session. Monthly meetings were held with the facilitators (research group participants responsible for implementing the activities) to organize the schedule for each cycle. According to the plan, the aim was to stimulate various aspects that change with aging, such as attention, memory, language, executive functions, fine motor coordination, and orientation, as well as to promote socialization among the elderly and digital inclusion, always associating it with the use of activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL). The activities were adapted to the weekly results of the elderly participants' responses to the activities, as well as the perception of the group implementing the activities. The activities were applied twice a week; training was conducted on Tuesdays, and an explanatory text and two examples of the activity were sent. The activity itself was carried out on Fridays. The explanatory text was sent again, followed by ten to fourteen tasks that were developed according to the participants' time, respecting a total activity time of one hour. The strategy of asking participants to wait for a command to send their answers after submitting the task was also used; this command was "GO," and its operation was previously explained to the participants. This was necessary to generate competitiveness, reduce copying of answers, and work on the limbic system. For the three months of intervention, there were three meetings for each cycle, totaling 13 weeks of activities. Reminders of the activity times were sent every Monday and Thursday afternoon and Tuesday and Friday morning. The planning of the teleworkshop activities was carried out in three cycles: 1st Cycle - Therapeutic Plan: Language and semantic memory associations with calculation and ADL and IADL: Week 1: Music. Audio and written excerpt of the song. "Spaces" between the verses. And responses with emojis. Week 2: Grandparents' Day. Images of environments with objects and people. Delete after one minute. Ask questions about the images, objects, and people: what they are doing, where they are, and the number of objects. Work on intergenerational interaction. Week 3: International Friendship Day. Use images of things that older adults share with friends. Ask the group beforehand. Make associations. 2nd Cycle - Therapeutic Plan: Mathematics and logical reasoning associations with ADLs and IADLs: Week 4: What is the result? Expressions with symbols are presented and their results; the objective is to find the value of the last expression. Week 5: Math Game. Heart emojis will be presented. Each heart of a different color is worth a number. In sequence, hearts with alternating subtraction and addition are presented. The objective is to say the result of the operation. Week 6: Associating. Association of syllables and images or with numbers. Ex.: SOAP – each syllable represented by emojis to assemble the word. Week 7: Mini-market. Present a flyer with the supermarket's promotions and then the dishes to be made. The objective is to point out the ingredients to be used using emojis and add up how much the grocery shopping would cost. Week 8: Organizing. Scrambled words related to a place (part) of the house. Various images in a specific location; how many images do not belong to the location? 3rd Cycle - Therapeutic Plan: Attention and language associations with ADL and IADL: Week 9: Where is the object? An image with objects is sent and deleted after 2 minutes. Afterwards, questions are asked about the image. Examples: Where is such and such an object? What hygiene objects appear in the image? Week 1Music. Audio and written excerpt of the song. "Spaces" between verses. And responses with emojis. Week 2: Grandparents' Day. Images of environments with objects and people. Delete after one minute. And ask questions about the images, objects, and people: what they are doing, where they are, and the number of objects. Work on intergenerationality. Week 3: International Friendship Day. Use images of things that older adults share with friends. Ask the group beforehand. And make associations. 2nd Cycle - Therapeutic Plan: Mathematics and logical reasoning associations with ADL and IADL: Week 4: What is the result? Expressions with symbols are presented and their results; the objective is to find the value of the last expression. Week 5: Math Game. Heart emojis will be presented. Each heart of a different color is worth a number. In sequence, hearts with alternating subtraction and addition are presented. The objective is to say the result of the operation. Week 6: Associating. Association of syllables and images or with numbers. Example: SOAP – each syllable represented by emojis to form the word. Week 7: Supermarket. Present a flyer with the supermarket's promotions and then the dishes to be made. The objective is to point out the ingredients to be used with emojis and add up how much the shopping would cost. Examples: Where is this object? What hygiene objects appear in the image? Week 10: International Day of Peace. Use hand emojis. Right hand – even answers and left hand – odd answers. If there are repeated numbers – both hands. Associate to arrive at the calculation and judgment. Week 11: World Tourism Day. Tourist attractions. Show images with photos of tourist attractions and ask questions afterward. The answer can be written or given using emojis as alternatives. Week 12: Moving box. Show images of boxes containing various everyday items, such as those used for hygiene, communication, personal care, food, etc. And heart emojis of different colors with the answer options indicating the number of objects inside the box. Week 13: Dominoes. Show a domino sequence and ask participants to place the next domino piece. Using the dot emoji. Post-intervention: Three months after the end of data collection, the post-intervention phase was carried out. The following questionnaires were applied to both groups: EDG Scale to assess changes after 3 months, AIVD and Braztel-MMSE to show if there were changes in the cognitive state of the elderly participants in the research. A post-intervention questionnaire was also conducted to assess subjective aspects and changes in biopsychosocial aspects over the last 3 months.

Trabalhar a intergeracionalidade. Perguntar antes no grupo. Direita – respostas pares e esquerda – respostas ímpares. Se for números repetidos – as duas mãos. Associar para chegar no cálculo e julgamento. Semana 11: Dia Mundial do Turismo.

Pre-test and post-test comparison in the intervention group – GIT: In the intervention group, the results of the Geriatric Depression Scale score showed a decrease in the mean, from 4.2 in the pre-test to 3.0 after the intervention. There were fewer responses suggesting depression. However, this coefficient is not statistically significant at the 5% significance level, as p-value > 0.05. In the intervention group, the results of the Activities of Daily Living (IADL) score showed an increase in both the mean and median of the post-test when compared to the pre-test. There was an improvement in independence in instrumental activities of daily living after the 3-month intervention. This coefficient is statistically significant at the 5% significance level, as p-value < 0.05. In the intervention group, the results of the BRAZITEL-MMSE score, a test that adapts the Mini-Mental State Examination for telephone use, showed an increase in both the mean and median of the post-test when compared to the pre-test. Cognition improved after the 3-month intervention. This coefficient is statistically significant at the 5% significance level, as p-value < 0.05. Pre-test and post-test comparison in the control group – CG: In the control group, the results of the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) score did not show changes in the post-test when compared to the pre-test. However, this coefficient is not statistically significant at the 5% significance level, as p-value > 0.05. In the control group, the results of the IADL score showed a slight increase in the median of the post-test when compared to the pre-test. This demonstrates an increase in dependence after three months. However, this coefficient is not statistically significant at the 5% significance level, as p-value > 0.05. In the control group, the results of the BRAZITEL-MMSE score showed a decrease in the post-test when compared to the pre-test. An increase in cognitive impairment was observed after three months. However, this coefficient is not statistically significant at the 5% significance level, as the p-value > 0.05. Comparison between control and intervention groups: Total population results for the geriatric depression scale showed an average score below 5 points pre- and post-intervention, not suggesting depression. The comparison between the post-intervention and control groups of the geriatric depression scale showed that, pre-intervention, the control group (GA) had a higher median than the intervention group (GIT), the control group (GC) had a median of 5.5, and the intervention group (GIT) had a median of 3.0. Post-intervention results showed stabilization of the GIT score, with a median of 3.0, without suggesting depression. Total population results for the instrumental activities of daily living scale showed an average of 17 to 18 points pre- and post-intervention; both groups presented partial dependence in one or more instrumental activities of daily living. The comparison between the post-intervention and control groups on the Instrumental Activities of Daily Living scale showed equal mean and median scores in both the control and intervention groups (CG) before the intervention. Post-intervention results showed a slight increase in the mean and median scores of the CG. The total population score for the BRAZITEL scale was 18 points pre- and post-intervention, with both groups suggesting mild cognitive impairment. The comparison between the post-intervention and control groups on the BRAZITEL scale showed a mean and median score of 17 in the CG and 18 in the CG before the intervention. Post-intervention results showed a slight increase of 19 in the mean and median scores of the CG, indicating evidence of cognitive impairment, and a decrease in the median score in the CG. Relative Risk Reduction: Based on the dichotomous division of scores and results from the scales applied in the post-test in the two groups, another measure was performed. This measure aims to analyze the relative risk reduction (RRR) to assess the reduction of events in the intervention group (GIT) compared to the control group (GC) after the proposed intervention was applied to the teleworkshop group. Patients who received the intervention had an 85.7% reduction in the risk of depression, a 3.3% reduction in the risk of partial dependence in activities of daily living, and a 58.4% reduction in the risk of mild cognitive impairment in the Brazitel-MMSE test. Post-evaluation of the Intervention Group (GIT) and the Control Group (GC). After the three-month intervention, along with the tests, a questionnaire was conducted to obtain the participants' opinions and level of acceptance of the teleworkshops. Of the 14 participants, all stated that they carried out the teleworkshop activities at home, even asynchronously; 42.9% participated synchronously. 78.6% carried out the activities alone, without the help of family members or caregivers. The majority considered the activities easy (28.6%) to moderate (35.7%). The difficulties faced, according to the participants, were finding the emojis (83%), difficulty of the activity (33.2%), very small letters and images (33.2%). 78.65% stated that they enjoyed participating in the activities and 71.4% stated that participating in the activities improved their memory and attention in daily life. Of the participants in the GIT group, 71.4% are interested in continuing to participate in the teleworkshops after the end of the study. After the 3 months of pre-intervention, the control group, which did not receive any intervention, mostly (87.5%) reported not perceiving any change in their cognitive state. And none of the participants in the control group showed interest in participating in the teleworkshops after the end of the study

E 18 no GIT. Pós-avaliação do grupo Intervenção (GIT) e do Grupo controle (GC). A maioria considerou as atividades fáceis (28,6%) a moderada (35,7%).

Introduction: With aging, brain functions have their performance altered, which demonstrates the importance of care aimed at prevention, and for a healthy aging that is carried out continuously. However, due to the social isolation measures resulting from the covid-19 pandemic and the need to suspend cognitive stimulation workshops for face-to-face elderly people, there was a need to reinvent elderly care strategies and the emergence of the teleassistance proposal, with cognitive stimulation teleworkshops. Objective: To analyze the effect of cognitive stimulation teleworkshops for the elderly developed in instant message groups, comparing it with elderly people in outpatient control. Method: This is a quasi-experimental, non-randomized study using a convenience sample with 30 elderly participants, 14 in the intervention group (Teleoficinas) and 16 in the control group. Based on Nola Pender's theory of nursing, as well as her revised model of health promotion (MPS) and the health planning process for creating the Teleworkshop intervention protocol. The participants were elderly people enrolled in a multidisciplinary program for the elderly in the State of Rio de Janeiro and invited to participate in an instant messaging group in which weekly teleworkshops were held, with virtual meetings twice a week, lasting one hour. Initially and after three months, the elderly in both groups were evaluated using the following instruments: biopsychosocial-economic aspects, impact on the elderly person's life of participating in the program, IADL scale, Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS), Mini Mental State Examination validated by telephone (Braztel-MMSE). Through the data collected and arranged in Excel spreadsheets, univariate analysis was performed to describe the profile of the participants, bivariate analysis with the application of the Mann-Whitney test, Wilcoxon test, Chi-square test and Fisher's exact test. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee, Opinion: 5,324,047. Results/Discussion: the final sample consisted of elderly people, mostly women (80%), aged between 64 and 93 years, with complete high school education (40%), followed by complete higher education (23.3%), retired (83.3%) without moderate to cognitive impairment, independent to partially dependent on activities of daily living (IADL). Comparatively, in the pre- and post-tests, the intervention group (Teleoficinas) showed results of clinical improvement in the scores of the EDG scales (p-value: 0.404) IADL (p-value 0.010) and BRAZITEL-MMSE (p-value 0.049); that is, improved independence in instrumental activities of daily living and in cognition when compared to the control group. Linear regression of the scales applied in the pre-test showed that the greater the number of children, the greater the symptoms of depression on the EDG scale (p-value 0.026), as well as elderly people living with grandchildren (p-value <0.001). Participation in medical consultations decreases GDS scale scores (p-value 0.011). Elderly people who live with a companion (p-value 0.029) and have a caregiver (p-value 0.046) have lower IADL scores, that is, they are more dependent. Elderly people who reject technologies have greater cognitive impairment (p-value 0.028). Conclusions: The teleworkshops promoted health for the elderly participants, with clinical improvement in the results of tests of cognition, depression and instrumental activities of daily living after three months of application. They were effective in promoting and maintaining the cognitive state, independence and mood improvement, with positive clinical responses regarding depressive feelings, as well as providing a healthy environment for socialization after social isolation in a period when there was a fear of returning to face-to-face and social activities.
