This is a non-randomized clinical study, with a pre-post-test design of a single group (before and after). Study data will be measured before and after application of the intervention. Group: 95 nursing professionals (Hospital 1: 9 nurses and 63 technicians and Hospital 2: 8 nurses and 15 technicians in the morning, afternoon and night shifts) who work in pediatric hospitalization units in two hospitals in the south of Brazil, intentionally chosen , for the convenience of the researcher. The main objective is to verify the effectiveness of the educational intervention TIV-Disinfect regarding the learning of nursing professionals from Pediatric Inpatient Units regarding the disinfection of venous devices before administering medications. The instruments were applied once with each participant, in a single moment and sequentially, as follows: a pre-test was applied, the intervention was carried out and finally the post-test was applied, with a total duration of 30 minutes.

Trata-se de um estudo clínico não randômico, com desenho pré-pós-teste de um único grupo (antes e depois). Os dados do estudo serão medidos antes e após a aplicação da intervenção. Grupo: 95 profissionais de enfermagem (Hospital 1: 9 enfermeiros e 63 técnicos e no Hospital 2: 8 enfermeiros e 15 técnicos nos turnos matutino, vespertino e noturno) que atuam em unidades de internação pediátrica em dois hospitais do sul do Brasil, escolhidos intencionalmente, por conveniência do pesquisador. O objetivo principal é verificar a efetividade da intervenção educativa TIV-Disinfect quanto a aprendizagem de profissionais de enfermagem de Unidades de Internação Pediátrica referente a desinfecção de dispositivos venosos antes da administração de medicações. Os instrumentos foram aplicados uma vez com cada participante, em um único momento e de forma sequencial, sendo: aplicou-se um pré-teste, realizou-se a intervenção e por último aplicou-se o pós-teste, com duração total de 30 minutos.

The sample will consist of only one group, dependent, which will be compared before and after the intervention. Introduction: There is a low adherence of professionals to the aseptic technique regarding the disinfection of venous devices before administering medications. Thus, it is necessary to establish preventive measures, such as updating the knowledge of professionals in order to minimize risks to patients, especially pediatric patients. Objective: to verify the effect of an educational intervention regarding the learning of nursing professionals from Pediatric Inpatient Units regarding the disinfection of venous devices. Methodology: Quantitative, quasi-experimental research of the “before and after” type, with a pre-test and a post-test, with nursing professionals who work in pediatric hospitalization units, in two hospitals in the south of Brazil. Sample was intentional, not probabilistic. The study was carried out in three stages. Data analysis was performed using descriptive analysis and McNemar's hypothesis test. Results: 65 professionals participated, 14 nurses, 48 technicians and 3 nursing assistants. It can be inferred that there was a level of statistical significance in the questions about passive disinfection, disinfectants and recommended materials, friction, drying, administration of medication in the one-way extender, double-way or in the danula and disposal of the protective cover of the devices after manipulation. However, some topics did not show significant results.
Final considerations: the educational intervention had a positive effect and generated an improvement in the learning of nursing professionals regarding the disinfection of venous devices.pt-br
Introdução: Há uma baixa adesão dos profissionais pela técnica asséptica quanto a desinfecção de dispositivos venosos antes da administração de medicações. Assim, faz-se necessário o estabelecimento de condutas preventivas, como atualização do conhecimento dos profissionais afim de minimizar riscos ao paciente, principalmente aos pediátricos. Objetivo: verificar o efeito de uma intervenção educativa quanto a aprendizagem de profissionais de enfermagem de Unidades de Internação Pediátrica referente a desinfecção de dispositivos venosos. Metodologia: Pesquisa quantitativa, quase-experimental do tipo “antes e depois” com um pré-teste e um pós-testes, com profissionais de enfermagem que atuam em unidades de internação pediátrica, em dois Hospitais do Sul do Brasil. Amostra foi intencional, não probabilística. O estudo foi realizado em três etapas. A análise dos dados foi realizada utilizando análise descritiva e o teste de hipótese de McNemar. Resultados: participaram 65 profissionais, sendo 14 enfermeiros, 48 técnicos e 3 auxiliares de enfermagem. Pode-se inferir que houve nível de significância estatística nos questionamentos sobre desinfecção passiva, desinfetantes e materiais recomendados, fricção, secagem, administração de medicação no extensor de uma via, dupla via ou na dânula e descarte da tampa de proteção dos dispositivos após manipulação. Porém, alguns tópicos não apresentaram resultado significante.
Considerações finais: a intervenção educativa teve efeito positivo e gerou uma melhora na aprendizagem de profissionais de enfermagem referente a desinfecção de dispositivos venosos.
