    Control: facelift surgery was performed without plicature (deep suture of the tissues of the face to improve skin pull) of the superficial musculoaponeurotic system of the face in 15 post-bariatric patients.
Intervention: facelift surgery was performed with plicature of the superficial musculoaponeurotic system of the face in 15 post-bariatric patients.
Type of surgery was assigned at random in the beginning of the study.

    Grupo controle: realizada cirurgia para elevação da pele da face e remoção de rugas (ritidoplastia ou lifting facial) sem plicatura (uma espécie de sutura profunda na face para aumentar a sustentação) do sistema musculoaponeurótico superficial em 15 pacientes submetidas a cirurgia bariátrica.
Grupo intervenção: realizada cirurgia de ritidoplastia com a plicatura do sistema musculoaponeurótico superficial em 15 pacientes submetidas a cirurgia bariátrica.

    Female patients; aged between 40 and 70 years-old; post-bariatric surgery; with stable weight for at least 3 months; presenting with complaints of rhytidosis and skin sagging in the face.

    Patients previously submitted to facial surgery; implants or cosmetic procedures (either physical or chemical in the last 12 months); recent or uncontrolled clinical conditions (such as diabetes and hypertension); disorders of wound healing; autoimmune or collagen disorders; psychiatric conditions, smokers; patients in use of anticoagulant medications; corticosteroids; history of hypersensitivity to anesthesia; illiteracy.

    Pacientes submetidas previamente a cirurgias faciais, a implantes, preenchimentos em região malar, ou peelings químicos (fenol, ácido tricloroacético, glicólico, salicílico, retinóico, etc.) ou físicos (microdermoabrasão, dermoabrasão, ressufarcing a laser, há menos de 12 meses); diagnóstico de doença de caráter agudo ou crônico não controlado, como diabetes mellitus, hipertensão arterial sistêmica, distúrbios de cicatrização, doenças autoimunes, doenças do colágeno, doenças infecciosas e distúrbios psíquicos; tabagistas; em uso de medicações anticoagulantes, antiagregantes plaquetários ou corticosteróides; história de hipersensibilidade a anestésicos; analfabetas.
