    For data collection, a questionnaire on sociodemographic information; the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) and the Readiness for Change Rule were applied. A total of 112 male subjects were randomized who scored in AUDIT zone II and III and agreed to participate in the survey.

Randomization process: one of the survey contributors not involved in the screening conducted the draw on randomization.com. Once the list with the group allocation was generated, the employee placed each numbered paper in an envelope, respecting the order of allocation. The envelopes were sealed and delivered to the principal investigator in order to shield the participants' allocation and avoid selection bias.

The final sample of the control group was 62 members, they did not receive any intervention, only the instruments were applied and it continued in the care flow of the basic care unit.

The members of the experimental group (50) participated in a brief group intervention. This consisted of a single session lasting 30 to 40 minutes. The intervention was applied following the components of the brief intervention (FRAMES) proposed by the World Health Organization, as well as gender and group management components. The groups were minimally constituted by two subjects.

    Para coleta de dados foi aplicado um questionário sobre informações sociodemográficas;  o Alcohol Use Disorders dentification Test(AUDIT) e a Régua de Prontidão para Mudança. Foram randomizados 112 individuos homens os quais pontuaram na zona II e III do AUDIT e que aceitaram participar da pesquisa. 
Um dos colaboradores da pesquisa, não envolvido no rastreio realizou o sorteio no site randomization.com

Uma vez gerada a lista com a alocação nos grupos, o colaborador colocou cada papel numerado em um envelope, respeitando a ordem de alocação. Os envelopes foram lacrados e entregues ao pesquisador principal com o intuito de blindar a alocação dos participantes e evitar o viés de seleção. 

A amostra final do grupo controle foi de 62 integrantes,os mesmos não receberam nenhum tipo de intervenção, apenas foram aplicados os instrumentos e o mesmo continuou no fluxo de atendimento da unidade de atenção basica. 

Os integrantes do grupo experimental  participarão de uma intervenção breve grupal. Esta constava de uma sessão única com duração de 30 a 40 minutos. A intervenção foi aplicada seguindo os componentes da intervenção breve (FRAMES)proposta pela Organização Mundial da Saúde,além de componentes de gênero e de manejo de grupos.                                                         Alcohol use pattern, defined by the frequency and amount of substance use. This was verified using the AUDIT instrument.                                                     Readiness for change. It is the motivation that the individual has to make changes in behavior regarding alcohol use. The outcome was verified using the readiness for change scale.
