  A total of 30 patients will be selected for this research. The treatment used in each hemi-arc will be determined randomly and randomization will be performed by lottery. The details of each allocated group will be recorded on cards contained in sealed, opaque, and sequentially numbered envelopes. These will be drawn by a staff member not directly involved in the study. The allocation of the group will be revealed by opening the envelope on the day of the bleaching procedure. It is worth mentioning that in this study the operator and evaluator will be different people. This procedure will ensure that both the operator and the volunteer will not know which protocol will be used in a given hemi-arc. Initially, the dental arches of the selected patients will be molded with alginate (Jeltrate-Dentsply, Konstanz, Germany) and after obtaining models of stone gypsum, two layers of nail polish will be applied to the vestibular of the teeth to be bleached. The trays will be made in vacuum plasticizer (Plastivac P7-Bioart, Brazil) using 1 mm thick acetate plates. Afterwards, they will be cut with the gingival line as the limit. In the second consultation will be the test of the trays verifying their adaptation and observing the occurrence of interferences in the teeth, gingival tissue and movements of the lips and tongue. It will be advised to deposit the equivalent of 1 drop of the product in the bottom of the tray, for each tooth to be cleared. The tray will then be adapted into the dental arch and possible excesses of the product will be removed with the aid of a dental brush or gauze. The volunteers will be informed about the posology, receiving a syringe of the product, that will be applied of 6-8 hours daily, during 3 weeks. At the end of the study, bleaching with relief throughout the tray, unrelated to the tested variable, will be performed in the lower arch.

  Serão selecionado um total de 30 pacientes para realização desta pesquisa. O tratamento empregado em cada hemi-arco será determinado aleatoriamente e a randomização será realizada através de sorteio. Os detalhes de cada grupo alocado serão registrados em cartões contidos em envelopes lacrados, opacos e numerados sequencialmente. Estes serão sorteados por um membro da equipe não envolvido diretamente no estudo. A alocação do grupo será revelada ao abrir o envelope no dia do procedimento clareador. Vale ressaltar que neste estudo o operador e avaliador serão pessoas distintas. Este procedimento garantirá que tanto o operador, como o voluntário não saberão qual protocolo será empregado em determinado hemi-arco. Inicialmente, as arcadas dentárias dos pacientes selecionados serão moldadas com alginato (Jeltrate- Dentsply,Konstanz, Alemanha) e após a obtenção de modelos de gesso pedra, serão aplicadas duas camadas de esmalte para unhas na vestibular dos dentes a serem clareados. As moldeiras serão confeccionadas em plastificador à vácuo (Plastivac P7- Bioart, Brasil), utilizando placas de acetato de 1 mm de espessura. Em seguida, serão recortadas tendo como limite a linha gengival. Na segunda consulta será realizada a prova da moldeiras verificando sua adaptação e observando a ocorrência de interferências nos dentes, tecido gengival e movimentos dos lábios e língua. Será orientado a depositar o equivalente a 1 gota do produto no fundo da moldeira, para cada dente a ser clareado. A moldeira será então adaptada na arcada dentária e os possíveis excessos do produto serão removidos com auxílio de escova dental ou gaze. Os voluntários serão informados sobre a posologia, recebendo uma seringa do produto, que será aplicado de 6-8 horas diárias, durante 3 semanas. Ao final do estudo, na arcada inferior será realizado o clareamento com alívio em toda a moldeira, sem relação com a variável testada.

  Vital and healthy upper teeth. Absence of dental caries. No visible defects of the enamel. Absence of orthodontic appliance. Good systemic conditions. Healthy oral soft tissues. Non smokers. Patients who have never performed bleaching treatment.

The comparison will be made through the readings with the initial reading, by the calculation below: E = [(L *) 2 + (a *) 2 + (b *) 2] 1/2. The color measurements will be performed at the 6 pre-set times (initial, 7, 14 and 21 days of treatment and 7 and 14 after bleaching treatment).

  Difference of the values of the dental sensitivity among the semi-dental arches. Measurements will be performed using the TSA II (Medoc TSA II NeurosensoryAnalyzer, Israel) neuro-sensory analysis equipment which has a delicate intraoral oral thermometer that will be positioned in the flatter region of the buccal surface of the teeth 13,12,11 , 21, 22 and 23 of the volunteers. For the cold sensation threshold (CST), the neuro-sensory analysis equipment, TSA II, will be used in the "Limits" function.

A mensuração será realizada através do equipamento de análise neuro-sensorial TSA II (Medoc TSA II NeurosensoryAnalyzer,Israel) que conta com um delicado termode auxiliar intra-oral, que será posicionado na região mais plana da face vestibular dos dentes 13, 12, 11, 21, 22 e 23 dos voluntários. Para o teste de detecção ao frio – cold sensation threshold (CST) –será utilizado o equipamento de análise neuro-sensorial, TSA II na função “Limits”.

  Change in dental sensitivity between treatments. In order to evaluate the sensitivity generated during the bleaching treatment in the 6 pre-established times, the device that enables the use of the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) in a computerized manner will be used. For the test, a constant thermal stimulation will be used in the tooth in question (stimulus temperature of 0 ° C). The volunteer will record the intensity of discomfort felt, which can vary from 0 to 10, through a manual control potentiometer. Volunteer responses are synchronized and available in the TSA-II program for analysis. - Dental Sensitivity Analysis The dental sensitivity will be analyzed for its presence and intensity, in the times previously, through questionnaires elaborated by the researchers (figure 1). To do so, using the visual analog method, using a scale from 0 to 10, patients will be questioned about the intensity of the discomfort caused by the treatment, being set the value 0 for patients who did not present any pain symptoms and 10 when sensitivity occurred severe Faced with the presence of sensitivity, the patient was questioned as to the hemiarco in which it occurred, and this information was duly noted.

Para avaliar a sensibilidade gerada durante o tratamento clareador nos 6 tempos pré estabelecidos, será utilizado o dispositivo que possibilita de modo computadorizado a utilização da Escala Analógica Visual(VAS). Para o teste, será utilizado uma estimulação térmica constante no dente em questão (temperatura de estímulo de 0°C). O voluntário registrará a intensidade de desconforto sentida, que poderá variar de 0 até 10, através de um potenciômetro de controle manual. As respostas dos voluntários são sincronizadas e disponíveis no programa do TSA-II para análise. - Análise da Sensibilidade Dental A sensibilidade dental será analisada quanto a sua presença e intensidade, nos tempos previamente, por meio de questionários elaborados pelos pesquisadores (figura 1). Para tanto, empregando o método analógico visual, através de uma escala de 0 a 10, os pacientes serão interrogados sobre a intensidade do desconforto provocado pelo tratamento, sendo estipulado o valor 0 para os pacientes que não apresentaram qualquer sintomatologia dolorosa e 10 quando ocorreu sensibilidade severa. Diante da presença de sensibilidade o paciente foi questionado quanto ao hemiarco em que ela ocorreu, sendo estas informações devidamente anotadas.

  Change in color scale of whitened teeth. The visual evaluation of the color change will be performed in the office, in each service session. To this end, the Vitapan Classical Shade Guide (Vita Zahnfabrik, Bad Säckingen, Germany) color scale, organized from B1 (lighter color) to C4 (darker color), will be used, assigning scores 1 (B1) to 16 (C4) (Machado et al, 2013). The only operator (MOG) with clinical experience and properly calibrated will be responsible for the evaluations.   Alteração na escala de cor dos dentes clareados. A avaliação visual da alteração de cor será realizada em consultório, em cada sessão de atendimento. Para tanto, será empregada a escala de cores Vitapan Classical Shade Guide (Vita Zahnfabrik, Bad Säckingen, Germany), organizadas a partir de B1 (cor mais clara) para C4 (cor mais escura), atribuindo os escores 1 (B1) a 16 (C4) (Machado et al, 2013). Único operador (MOG) com experiência clínica e devidamente calibrados será responsável pelas avaliações. Um assistente clínico anotará as cores selecionadas e as classificará de acordo com os escores em formulários padronizados Tabela 2.
