  Group 1: The transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation is applied for 20 minutes in 10 subjects entered into a program of 10 sessions of treatment with low-frequency, high pulse width and high intensity (enough to generate visible muscle jerks but comfortable), will be used carbonaceous electrodes with coupling gel and fixed on the skin of the lower back through plasters allergy. Group 2: besides the application of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation is associated with manipulation of the lumbar spine for ten sessions, in 10 subjects, performed as follows: the individual will be positioned in the lateral decubitus position with the knee flexed and adducted beyond the midline, the physical therapist will perform the contact with the active hand (hand manipulates) the gluteal region and supporting hand stabilizes the shoulder. The active hand hold the rotation of the lumbar spine in a precise manner, at high speed and low amplitude while the other hand only stabilize the shoulder movement. The handling will be carried out immediately after the application of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation

  Grupo 1: A estimulação elétrica nervosa transcutânea será aplicada durante 20 minutos em 10 indivíduos inseridos em um programa de 10 sessões de tratamento, com frequência baixa, largura de pulso alta e intensidade alta (suficiente para gerar abalos musculares visíveis porém confortável), serão utilizados eletrodos carbonados com gel de acoplamento e fixados na pele da região lombar por meio de esparadrapos antialérgicos. Grupo 2: além da aplicação da estimulação elétrica nervosa transcutânea será associada a manipulação da coluna lombar durante dez sessões, em 10 indivíduos, realizada da seguinte forma: o indivíduo será posicionado em decúbito lateral com o joelho flexionado e aduzido além da linha média, o fisioterapeuta realizará o contato com a mão ativa (mão que manipula) na região glútea e a mão de apoio estabilizará o ombro. A mão ativa realizará a rotação da coluna lombar de maneira precisa, em alta velocidade e baixa amplitude enquanto a outra mão somente estabilizará o movimento do ombro. A manipulação será realizada imediatamente após a aplicação da estimulação elétrica nervosa transcutânea

  male and female; aged 20-60 years old, body mass índex: 18 - 25 kg / m2 ; screening performed in Spinal Outpatient Clinic Maria da Glória of the Federal University of Triangulo Mineiro; sedentary or regular physical activity practitioners will be forwarded to the Glory Marida Clinic of the Federal University of Triangulo Mineiro; persistent pain between the last rib and the gluteal fold in a period exceeding three months; no history of previous spinal surgery, spinal fractures, neurological disorders, tumors, osteoporosis and arthrosis advanced; complain of pain greater than 0 in the visual analogue scale; not present diagnosis of psychiatric disorder, cognitive impairment or difficulties in understanding and communication that could compromise the use of electrotherapy or spinal manipulation

  Sexo feminino e masculino; idade entre 20 - 60 anos, índice de Massa Corpórea: 18 – 25 Kg/m2; triagem realizada no Ambulatório de Coluna Vertebral do Ambulatório Maria da Glória da Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro; sedentários ou praticantes de atividade física regular serão encaminhados ao Ambulatório Marida da Glória da Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro; persistência da dor, entre o último arco costal e a prega glútea, em um período superior a três meses; não apresentar história de cirurgia prévia na coluna vertebral, fraturas da coluna vertebral, doenças neurológicas, tumores, osteoporose e artrose avançada; apresentar queixa de dor maior que 0 na escala visual analógica; não apresentar diagnóstico de distúrbio psiquiátrico, déficit cognitivo ou dificuldades de compreensão e comunicação que possa comprometer o uso de eletroterapia ou da manipulação da coluna

  Diagnosis of a new disease or trauma to the spine and / or lower limbs in the period between the intervention and the follow-up study; fouls two consecutive sessions during the intervention period.

  After one month (10 sessions) of intervention, for the group treated with TENS, the pain will be higher when compared to the group treated with TENS and lumbar manipulation. The association of the techniques will be more effective in the long-term pain relief, identified by the decrease of the values in the visual analogue scale (VAS).
