  This is a prospective intervention study in time series with a total of 242 patients. Control group (historical series): 121 patients with long-term central venous catheter (CVC) dialyzed from January 2023 to September 2024, treated with the dressing technique with 2% degerming chlorhexidine associated with 0.5% alcoholic chlorhexidine. Intervention group: 121 patients with long-term central venous catheter (CVC) recruited in the control group, dialyzed from October 2024 to January 2026, treated with the dressing technique with only 2% alcoholic chlorhexidine. Description of the central venous catheter dressing technique for hemodialysis: Required materials and resources = Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): surgical mask, safety glasses and procedure gloves. Specific materials for the procedure = Trolley or tray to place the materials, dressing kit or sterile glove, 2 round vats, 1 sachet of 0.9% SF, bottle of 2% alcoholic chlorhexidine, 3 packages of sterile gauze and transparent film. Procedure = 1. Confirm the patient and the procedure to be performed; 2. Clean your hands with water and antiseptic soap (minimum 30 seconds) or alcohol gel (minimum 15 seconds); 3. Put on a surgical mask and safety glasses; 4. Gather the materials on the tray or cart and take them to the patient; 5. Clean your hands with water and antiseptic soap (minimum 30 seconds) or alcohol gel (minimum 15 seconds); 6. Put on gloves (procedure gloves if using the dressing kit, or sterile gloves if not using the dressing kit); 7. Clean the catheter exit hole with gauze soaked in 0.9% SF using circular movements from the inside out (clean as many times as necessary); 8. Clean the catheter exit hole with gauze soaked in 2% alcoholic chlorhexidine using circular movements from the inside out (clean as many times as necessary); 9. Wait for the skin to dry naturally, observing the appearance of the insertion and the skin around the catheter; 10. Occlude the catheter insertion with transparent film, leaving the exit hole visible; 11. Remove gloves; 12. Clean your hands with water and antiseptic soap (minimum 30 seconds) or alcohol gel (minimum 15 seconds); 13. Identify the dressing, writing down the name of who performed it and the date; 14. Make the patient comfortable; 15. Clean your hands with water and antiseptic soap (minimum 30 seconds) or alcohol gel (minimum 15 seconds); 16. Put on procedure gloves; 17. Collect the material and discard it in appropriate trash; 18. Perform hand hygiene with water and antiseptic soap (minimum 30 seconds) or alcohol gel (minimum 15 seconds); 19. Make a note of the dressing on the patient's dialysis prescription, and inform the nurse on duty if there are any changes

  Trata-se de estudo prospectivo de intervenção em séries temporais com um total de 242 pacientes. Grupo controle (série histórica): 121 pacientes com cateter venoso central (CVC) de longa permanência dialisados de janeiro de 2023 a setembro de 2024, tratados com a técnica de curativo com clorexidina degermante a 2% associada a clorexidina alcoólica à 0,5%. Grupo intervenção: 121 pacientes com cateter venoso central (CVC) de longa permanência recrutados no grupo controle dialisados de outubro de 2024 a janeiro de 2026, tratados com a técnica de curativo apenas com a clorexidina alcoólica a 2%. Descrição da técnica de curativo do cateter venoso central para hemodiálise: Materiais e recursos necessários = Equipamentos de Proteção Individual (EPIs): máscara cirúrgica, óculos de segurança e luvas de procedimento. Materiais específicos para o procedimento = Carrinho ou bandeja para colocar os materiais, kit curativo ou luva estéril, 2 cubas redonda, 1 flaconete de SF 0,9%, frasco de clorexidina alcoólica à 2%, 3 pacotes de gaze estéril e filme transparente. Procedimento = 1. Confirmar o paciente e o procedimento a ser realizado; 2. Realizar a higienização das mãos com água e sabão antisséptico (mínimo 30 segundos) ou álcool gel (mínimo 15 segundos); 3. Colocar máscara cirúrgica e óculos de segurança; 4. Reunir os materiais na bandeja ou carrinho e levar até o paciente; 5. Realizar a higienização das mãos com água e sabão antisséptico (mínimo 30 segundos) ou álcool gel (mínimo 15 segundos); 6. Calçar as luvas (luvas de procedimento se usar o kit curativo, ou luvas estéreis se não utilizar o kit curativo); 7. Limpar o orifício de saída do cateter com gaze embebida em SF 0,9% com movimentos circulares de dentro para fora (limpe quantas vezes forem necessárias); 8. Limpar o orifício de saída do cateter com gaze embebida em clorexidina alcoólica à 2% com movimentos circulares de dentro para fora (limpe quantas vezes forem necessárias); 9. Aguardar a pele secar naturalmente, observando o aspecto da inserção e da pele ao redor do cateter; 10. Ocluir a inserção do cateter com filme transparente, deixando visível o orifício de saída; 11. Retirar as luvas; 12. Realizar a higienização das mãos com água e sabão antisséptico (mínimo 30 segundos) ou álcool gel (mínimo 15 segundos); 13. Identificar o curativo, anotando nome de quem realizou e data; 14. Deixar o paciente confortável; 15. Realizar a higienização das mãos com água e sabão antisséptico (mínimo 30 segundos) ou álcool gel (mínimo 15 segundos); 16. Calçar luvas de procedimento; 17. Recolher o material e desprezar em lixo apropriado; 18. Realizar higienização das mãos com água e sabão antisséptico (mínimo 30 segundos) ou álcool gel (mínimo 15 segundos); 19. Realizar anotação do curativo na prescrição de diálise do paciente, e comunique o enfermeiro de plantão se houver qualquer alteração
