Intervention group: will be 25 athletes with ankle sprains. These will receive the normal treatment for ankle sprains based on electrotherapy and kinesiotherapy, an associated motor imagery training. For that will be used a computer program that projects images of the ankle and the individual must determine whether the image is a right or left ankle. The treatment will be performed daily, five days a week until discharge clinic. Control Group: will be 25 athletes with ankle sprains and only carry the standard treatment recommended for ankle sprain, similar to the intervention group without motor imagery.

Grupo intervenção: serão 25 atletas com entorse de tornozelo. Estes receberão o tratamento normal para entorse de tornozelo, baseado em eletroterapia e cinesioterapia, associado um treino de imagética motora. Para tanto será utilizado um programa de computador que projetará imagens de tornozelo e o indivíduo deverá identificar se a imagem é um tornozelo direito ou esquerdo. O tratamento será realizado diariamente, cinco dias por semana até receber alta clínica. Grupo controle: serão 25 atletas com entorse de tornozelo e apenas realizarão o tratamento normal indicado para entorse de tornozelo, idêntico ao grupo intervenção, sem a imagética motora.

Athlete's soccer with acute ankle sprains, male and female, aged between 16 and 45 years and underwent a medical evaluation prior.

The outcome of the study will be analyzed according to variables collected at the beginning and end of treatment for ankle sprains, which are: Ankle girth: The perimeter will be made with the aid of a tape measure placed around the ankle in the form of "8" through the following points: tuberosity of the navicular bone, the base of 5th metatarsal, the medial malleolus, the lateral malleolus the tendon of the tibialis before. The participant is supine with the ankle in neutral position. Questionnaire Cumberland Ankle Instability: will be used for the evaluation of functional instability presented by the participants. Star Excursion Balance Test: test that assesses dynamic balance. Range of motion of the ankle: The measurement of ROM of the ankle will be in a position to deposit the load and is therefore closer to a functional condition. Total duration of treatment. Relapse number of sprain after treatment.

O desfecho do estudo será analisado segundo as variáveis coletadas no início e no final do tratamento para entorse de tornozelo, sendo elas: Perimetria do tornozelo: A perimetria será feita com o auxílio de uma fita métrica posicionada ao redor do tornozelo em formato de “8” passando pelos seguintes pontos: tuberosidade do osso navicular, a base do 5º metatarso, o maléolo medial, o maléolo lateral a o tendão do músculo tibial anterior. O participante estará em decúbito dorsal com o tornozelo em posição neutra. Questionário Cumberland de Instabilidade de Tornozelo: será utilizado para a avaliação do quadro de instabilidade funcional apresentado pelos participantes. Star Excursion Balance Test: teste que avalia equilíbrio dinâmico. Amplitude de movimento do tornozelo: A mensuração da ADM de tornozelo será feita numa posição de depósito de carga, sendo portanto mais próximo de uma condição funcional. Duração total do tratamento. Número de entorse recidivos após o tratamento.
