Outcome found: When analyzing the mean scores of the intra-group knowledge test, a 40% increase was observed in the mean score of correct answers in the pre- and post-test control group, µ =5.6 (sd ± 1.40) Md 6.0 - µ =7.86 (sd ±1.45) Md 8.0 respectively. The intervention group showed a 29.63% increase between pre- and post-test, µ = 5.4 (sd ±1.59) Md 5.0 - µ =7.0 (sd ±1.06) Md 7.0, respectively. After the Shapiro Wilk normality test, the data was found not to be normal. The analysis was therefore based on the group median and the Wilkoxon non-parametric test was used. The test showed that both the volunteers in the control group (Z = -3.205; P = 0.001) and the intervention group (Z = -3.225; P = 0.001) increased their level of knowledge after applying the education methods used on the subject of training.

Outcome found 1: The Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare the groups, as they were independent non-parametric samples. There was no significance in the pre-test comparison between the control (µ=5.60 sd ± 1.40; Md = 6.0) and intervention (µ =5.40 sd ± 1.59; Md = 5.0) groups, Z = -468; P = 0.640. However, the comparative analysis of the post-test scores between the groups showed significant differences. Control group µ =7.86 (sd ±1.45) Md =8.0 and intervention group µ =7.0 (sd ±1.06) Md =7.0 (Z = -2.142; p=0.032). The test thus showed that the volunteers trained using the lecture strategy had a higher level of knowledge about the training topic.

48 participants were randomized for the study. The number was defined based on a sample calculation. The stratified random probability sample was calculated for two sections of the nursing staff population: nurses and nursing technicians. The sample calculation was defined for the population with a confidence level of 95% and an error of 5%. 24 participants were allocated to the intervention group, who would receive simulation-mediated training, and 24 to the control group, who would receive traditional lecture-based training. In both the intervention and control groups, there were nine losses during the segment due to non-attendance at the training. The results considered the analysis of 15 participants from the intervention group and 15 from the control group.

Outcome measure:
en
In the pre-intervention knowledge test, the volunteers had an overall average of 5.50 ±1.48 and a median of 5.50. When assessing the participants' performance by thematic axis of each question, questions seven and nine (out of 10), both on the administration axis, showed a significant association using the chi-square test p=0.003 and p=0.029 respectively. The pre-test aimed to assess the participants' prior knowledge about the chosen training topic, while the post-test aimed to assess the participants' grasp of knowledge about the trained topic according to the interventions proposed for the group they were in. When analyzed separately, CG had a mean of 5.60 ±1.40 (median 6.0) in the pre-test and a mean of 7.86 ±4.15 (median 8.0) in the post-test. In the pre-test GI had a mean of 5.40 ±1.59 (median 5.0) and in the post-test it rose to a mean of 7.0 ±1.06 (median 7.0). The comparison between the inter-group post-test scores also showed a statistically significant difference (p=0.037). In addition, the calculation of the Relative Risk (RR) between the groups showed a value of 0.69, indicating that professionals in the intervention group (simulation) were 31% less likely to achieve the desired outcome compared to the control group (lecture).

Results summary:
en
Introduction: Medication administration errors, which are common in healthcare institutions, account for 31.1% of incidents, especially in high-pressure environments such as the Emergency Department. In order to prevent these errors and ensure patient safety, it is important that staff training is effective. In this context, clinical simulation has stood out as an effective method, improving cognitive, technical and behavioral skills in a safe environment. Considered the gold standard in education, this approach promotes knowledge and reduces risks, improving the quality of care provided. Objective: To compare the knowledge apprehension of emergency car drug training, between the Simulation-Based Teaching (SBL) methodology and dialogued lectures, applied to nursing professionals. Method: This is a randomized, controlled, parallel clinical trial with two arms in the emergency department of a teaching hospital in southern Brazil. It was organized into five phases: recruitment, characterization of participants and pre-test, intervention, post-test and data analysis. The pre- and post-tests consisted of a questionnaire with ten multiple-choice questions on the subject. A sample calculation of the population was carried out, stratified into nurses, care nurses and nursing technicians. Participants were randomized into a control group (lecture) and an intervention group (simulation). The Shapiro Wilk normality test and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test for association were carried out. A 95% confidence interval was used (α = 0.05). Study approved by the research ethics committee under CAAE No. 67731423.0.0000.5231. Results: 30 professionals took part in the study, with an average age of 37.4 years and an average of 2.1 years working in emergency services. 76.7% (23) were female, 53.3% (16) self-declared white. When assessing knowledge, the control group had an average score of 5.6 pre-test and 8.0 post-test (p=0.001). The intervention group had an average score of 5.0 pre-test and 7.0 post-test (p=0.001). When comparing the mean post-test score between the groups, statistical significance was also observed (p=0.037). Calculating the Relative Risk (RR) between the groups showed a value of 0.69, indicating that professionals in the intervention group (simulation) were 31% less likely to reach the desired outcome compared to the control group (lecture). Conclusions: Both teaching strategies tested proved to be effective in helping professionals to grasp knowledge about the subject, but when comparing the performance of both groups post-intervention, the lecture group had a higher level of correct answers. Although the simulation was expected to result in a greater grasp of knowledge, the results suggest that the intervention did not have the expected impact. This discrepancy between the initial hypothesis and the actual findings highlights the need for further investigation into the factors that may have influenced the effectiveness of simulation compared to conventional training, despite the statistically significant difference in the post-test scores between the groups.

76,7% (23) eram do sexo feminino, 53,3% (16) autodeclarados brancos.
