    Experiment 1 (Intestinal permeability): Three days before the test, 20 health women and 12 obese women, age between 19 and 40 years,  will avoid to intake fruits rich in mannitol, such as apple, guava, pear, grape, plum, cherry, apricot, raspberry, and blackberry. On the day of the trial, after 10h fasting, anthropometric variables (weight, height, waist circumference, % of body fat) will be measured. Blood will be collected and volunteers will be asked to eliminate all urine and further intake 200 mL of a solution containing 3 g of mannitol and 9.47 g of lactulose. After that, all urine will be collected within 5 hours.
Experiment 2 (absortion and excretion study): Three days before and during the intervention, 20 health women and 12 obese women, age between 19 and 40 years, were instructed to avoid any intake of citrus fruit, tomato, and fruits rich in anthocyanins such as strawberry and grape, and their derived, as well as tea and coffee. After 8 h of fasting, subjects will ingest 600 mL of orange juice Pera, in a single dose, and urine will be collected before intake, and at time intervals between 0 - 4 h, 4 - 8 h and 8 - 12 h and 12 - 24 h.

Após um jejum de 10h, o sangue e os parâmetros antropométricos serão coletadas (peso, altura, circunferência da cintura, % de gordura). Antes do teste, será solicitado que as voluntárias eliminem toda a urina e, posteriormente, irão ingerir 200 mL de uma solução contendo 3g de manitol e 9,47 g de lactulose. Posteriormente, será coletado toda a urina no período de 5h.

                                                        Primary outcome: It is expected that lean individuals will be able to excrete more flavonoids in the urine than obese individuals, since the metabolism of flavonoids specific for orange juice is dependent on the intestinal microbiota and that probably obese individuals may present with dysbiosis, hindering the metabolism of these flavonoids.
