    Intervention Group: will be composed of 90 caregivers of stroke patients who will be submitted to an intervention using an educational primer about what is stroke, its nuances and the main care after hospital discharge in the theory of basic human needs. The GI will initially respond to a sociodemographic instrument and a pre-test assessment instrument based on knowledge, practice and attitude, later the educational booklet will be applied.
Control group: will be composed of 90 caregivers of patients suffering from stroke who will be submitted to the guidelines in the unit of the hospital in which they are. The CG will initially respond to a sociodemographic instrument and a pre-test valuation instrument based on knowledge, practice and attitude, later will be released and will suffer interventions from the professionals of the hospital unit in which hey are.
Both groups will undergo two post-tests, also based on knowledge, practice and attitude, one to three month safter the first intervention.

    Grupo de Intervenção: será composto por 90 cuidadores de pacientes vítimas de acidente vascular cerebral que serão submetidos a uma intervenção empregada por meio de uma cartilha educativa acerca do que é o acidente vascular cerebral, suas nuances e os principais cuidados após a alta hospitalar pautados na teoria das necessidades humanas básicas. O GI, inicialmente responderá um instrumento sociodemográfico e um instrumento de avaliação pré-teste pautado no conhecimento, prática e atitude, posteriormente será aplicada a cartilha educativa. 
Grupo controle: será composto por 90 cuidadores de pacientes vítimas de acidente vascular cerebral que serão submetidos as orientações existentes na unidade do hospital em que se encontram. O GC, inicialmente responderá um instrumento sociodemográfico e um instrumento de avaliação pré-teste pautado no conhecimento, prática e atitude, posteriormente será liberado e sofrerá intervenções dos profissionais da unidade do hospital em que se encontram. 
Ambos os grupos passarão por dois pós-testes posteriores, também pautados no conhecimento, prática e atitude, de um a três meses após a primeira intervenção.

    Caregivers who present some mental impossibility to understand interventions and those who cannot read and write. Cases of discontinuity will be considered: telephone change after follow-up, failure to answer telephone call safter three attempt sat different day sand times, caregiver whose cell phoneis out of area or disconnected for more than 10 attempts to connect in days and schedules and no longer be the caregiver of the patient suffering from stroke. The patient or caregiver who died in the course of the research will be considered a loss.

    Os cuidadores que apresentarem alguma impossibilidade mental para entender às intervenções e aqueles que não souberem ler e escrever. Serão considerados casos de descontinuidade: mudança de telefone após o acompanhamento, não atender às ligações telefônicas após três tentativas em dias e horários distintos, o cuidador que o celular encontrar-se fora de área ou desligado por mais de 10 tentativas de ligação em dias e horários distintos e não ser mais o cuidador do paciente vítima de AVC.                                                         To evaluate the improvement of the care provided by a caregiver, considering his knowledge, attitude and practice, to the patient suffering from Cerebral Vascular Accident after discharge from hospital using an educational primer.                                                         Avaliar a melhora do cuidado prestado por um cuidador, considerando seu conhecimento, atitude e prática, ao paciente vítima de Acidente Vascular Cerebral após a alta hospitalar utilizando uma cartilha educativa.                                                     The data will be processed in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), version 20.0, license number 10101131007, arranged in tables and / or graphs. The mean, standard deviation and median measures will be calculated for variables age, number of years of schooling, income and scores on the Stroke knowledge scale and their respective domains. The analysis of contrasting groups will be done to analyze the homogeneity between the control group (CG) and the intervention group (GI), using x², likelihood ratio, Student t or Mann-Whitney tests.
The analysis of association and correlation between scoring scores and their domains will be done by the x², likelihood ratio and Spearman rs tests, respectively.

                                                    Os dados serão processados no Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), versão 20.0, licença número 10101131007, organizados em tabelas e/ou gráficos. Serão calculadas as medidas média, desvio padrão e mediana para variáveis idade, número de anos de estudo, renda e da pontuação da escala de conhecimentos sobre AVC e seus respectivos domínios. Será feita a análise de grupos contrastados para se analisar a homogeneidade entre o grupo controle (GC) e o grupo intervenção (GI), por meio de testes de x², razão de verossimilhança, t de Student ou Mann-Whitney.
